I’ve seen videos saying that i should use an amplifier for the speakers to work. I was wondering if I could directly connect them to my sub without any issues.
I've got a 5.1 surround sound speaker system from a broken home theater and I'm planning to use it as a pc speaker. The connectors aren't the usual ones used in speakers so I'm looking for a way to connect them to one 3.5mm jack. This at least will help me change the connectors.
If i connect the rca cables to a speaker, and connect that speaker straight to the tv, will the tv speakers work in line with the additional speaker? If so, is there any way to turn the tv speakers off and use the speaker just from the rca connection? If i say mute the tv speakers, will the rca speaker still work? And can the same be done with a soundbar?
Yes, take the red and white plugs and plug em into the output on your tv,and your good..might have to go into audio settings in your tv and switch it to "output" ..but yes, you can

In which case, fastest solution is to open the case on the turn table, and solder the ground wire to the remale rca connector ground- directly to the female rca connector goes into the board (typically a square metal frame with 2-4 solder points going into the board. And then solder the signal (+) to the spot where the center metal pin, of that same female rca, connector goes on to the board. Might not look pretty, but it's quick & hard to mess up

Not a great repair imho. Should be using solder plug RCA connectors with strain relief. Ok to get you by in an emergency, but twisted wires and electrical tape isn't a good long term solution.

Wym safe? As in personal safety? Or you asking if it's gonna last? It's safe as long as you make a good, correct splice. It's only 12 v. I'm sure you've put a 9v in your mouth before.

If you have passive speakers (does not plug into an outlet) then it won't work. It needs a preamp to power those speakers
