So up till now I have been in Portugal for 4 weeks. And its been PUMPING!
Sunday 5th & Monday 6th of November, Nazare had it first real big swell. 100% tow swell.
So with a head full of anxiety i had the option to shoot from the water off a jet-ski.
It’s the ultimate unique angle and for me i like to be unique.
Land is good but from the water its AMAZING.
Day one (part 1) is an afternoon on a building swell. Here you will see some truly HUGE waves.
Featuring world record holder for riding the biggest wave Sebastian Steudtner plus Pedro Scooby, Nic Von Rupp, Andrew Cotton, Lucas Chumbo & Mason Barnes.
Special thanks goes out to my driver Dino Carmo who put me into the spot to get the shot plus kept me safe & our spotter Diogo Pedro from NAZARE JET

@15:20 very cool shot, looks like the spray off the waves has formed the clouds. Would be fun to work with a high res still of it in Photoshop.

these waves are huge yes, but all.peak. Hawaiian waves when big photograph so much better, they are like a wall of water. this is focused peak wall, then fizzes. I don't think they compare

Quite frankly the drone footage tells the best visual story. The ski footage is OK but not as good.

I do find it funny that all those supposedly world record waves are always shot from the cliff. I will bet anyone the wave wouldn't have measured as big if they shot it from this channel angle. Don't get me wrong... the wave is still massive. But what they call 100ft is really like 70ft. And if they would shoot from the channel I would be proven right!!!
70 feet? The waves in Nazaré are huge when you compare it to the waves in other big places in the world.
@@antonioromao5681 Shoot it from the channel with a drone or on jetski. Notice how they never do. Why? Because it will show the wave isn't as big as it appears from atop the cliff. Like I said the wave is massive. That wasn't my argument. My argument is, the wave isn't 100ft. It only appears to look 100ft when you shoot it from atop the cliff. If you were to shoot it from the channel, you will see it's more like 70ft.
@@bgwhalley The biggest wave surfed in Nazaré measures 86 feet (world record!). It's safe to say that every Top10 wave in history has been surfed in Nazaré.
Too much jetski, don't like this kind of boring tow in surf... Bring back the real and responsible paddling surf!!!

Paddling is only possible in the small waves of Hawaii. In the mega-waves of Nazaré it is not humanly possible because they are the biggest and fastest waves in the world.

There's something uniquely boring about watching big wave surfing. Especially Nazare. I can only watch 4 waves or so then I get bored, but I can watch JJF shredding all day. I think it's the straight lines and shoulder hopping, aiming for the channel, the tow ins. It's all that. Yeah. This is inane. The only big wave video I like is the one where Cotton breaks his back. Not because its morbid, but because its fukkn interesting.
I find it a bit boring too mate but only coz I can’t imagine myself on those waves.kook life🤙
