  • In this video, I'm showing you the sequence that you use to weave double weave on a Cricket Loom.
    This video is a supplement to a 3000+ word blog post that I wrote that details exactly how to get started. You can find it here:
    weavefreestyle...
    If there is something missing in the video, I probably wrote about it in that blog post!

    This is the best series I've seen on double width weaving. Finally something that clearly shows step-by-step. I like your videos. They are nice and clear to follow. Thank you!

    Amy, you're a genius. That was very clear and helpful. I am probably going to have to watch this twice for it to really stick in my brain. Awesome.

    Thank you for doing the brain work. I want to weave a baby blanket on my 15” cricket. Your videos are very easy to follow for us beginners.

    I have had a rigid heddle for two years. Started with lot of info, but not much basics. You have really inspired me to do more. Came to your channel for warping, staying for all the rest! Love your different warping!! Thank you for your relaxing style!! 🤗😅

    Thank you so so much! I have been trying to do this double width weaving on my rigid heddle loom with so much disappointment. Your method is stright forward and clear. I appreciate your attention to detail and also your explanation of each step so I can know what is happening. You are an excellent instructor!

    I cannot thank you enough for this, ie., the videos, and the written instructions on the blog! You had to be so precise, and include ALL sorts of information. I cannot imagine how long this took you! Thank you so much for demystifying double weave for a new weaver (me)! And everything was so well explained too!

    You're the first that has explained this in a way I can grasp....however the warping part is still confusing.

    Thank you for this instruction! I struggle with understanding the relationship between heddles, pickup sticks to the top and bottom. This was a very helpful series on doubleweave.

    Thank you so much for a clear and well-explained tutorial. I’m trying to learn as much as I can before ordering my loom..have been leaning toward a 15” Cricket but was concerned I’d be limited by width. You’ve shown me that I won’t be! I’ve subscribed and am now off to look at your website. Thanks again for all your help. Suzette

    Hi Amy, thanks for this. I have a Beka that I'm going to adapt your instructions to. Did you every make a video how to double weave on a Beka? I have a 24".

    This is really so well done. The visuals are extremely helpful. I have difficulty with the written word at times. I am wondering it you might consider doing a visual on double weave on larger RH loom and how to adjust if one runs out of space on cloth beam (ie. weaving a throw). I would enjoy seeing the process so one can continue weaving and not lose the tension required to finish. I think you would be ideal for this because your visuals to detail are remarkable as well as your patience and teaching skills. I think many rh weavers would appreciate and benefit from this to take any size RH to another level. Only an appropriate length of sample would be necessary to demonstrate . Thanks for the consideration.

    Amy, Very helpful! Thank you so much! Have a 10” Ashford SampleIt and wondering if the heddles are used in the up, down & neutral positions on the blocks instead of having to push them down and pull them up, as you are doing on the Cricket. Also wondering how you unfold your fabric at the end, since you spread your warp as if it were a single layer of fabric. Don’t have a second heddle yet, but your video has given me the vision for the possibilities!

      @AmyDMcKnight  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Kim! You're Welcome! Yes, you would use the blocks on your Ashford. When you are done, you would take out the waste yarn and then open up your fabric and tie knots in the ends like you would do normally. Yay! I'm so happy you are seeing the possibilities. All the best ~Amy

    Thank you so much for all of this!!! I watched all of the videos up to here. I think I'm going to get another heddle and do this on my 15" Cricket. I mean, I can already do doublewidth on my 4-shaft loom, but, I have been looking and looking and looking for a way -- and an explanation for how to handle the heddles on a loom not designed for double heddles.

    You could do patterns in double wide if you got two more rigid heddles and two more pick ups...but that's kind of complicated, even on a floor loom.

    I have a question for you , on the heddle reeds one side is flat the other side is protruding out , can you explain the reason why this is .

    • @AmyDMcKnight
      @AmyDMcKnight  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it has something to do with strengthening the holes. You use the flat side because it is even. But all of us have warp it backwards at least once and not taken it off and can testify that the bumpy side will work too! Some heddles are flatnln both sides!
