- 2025+ 5.7L V8 Hemi, 6.4L 392 SRT Hemi & Hellcat 6.2L are all hanging around! What does that mean for the new 2025 Charger? Currently the 2025 Charger has the i6 Twin-Turbo & EV option available. Since the V8 Hemi is sticking around, could be see the Charger now have a V8 option?
Stellantis is doing a great job of messing up the Dodge (FCA) branding but they're keeping the Hemi around incase they need it. Sales are tanking & the company is losing tons of $$$.

Agreed! It does depend on the next President, and I know who I am voting for. I LOVE the V8! Another reason why we need REAL leadership in this country. It is insane to me that Ford found a way to keep the V8 in the Mustang GT and GTD. Chevy found a way to keep the V8 in the Corvette. Aston Martin found a way to keep the V8 in the Vantage and DB12 and even the V12 in the Volante and upcoming Valiant. Ferrari found a way to keep the V12 with the Purosangue and the upcoming 12 Cilindri. All of these cars are available in non-hybrid form and yet Stelantis can't find a way to keep the V8?

I met 2 women in Myrtle beach who said they built my car and we started talking. They said they work at Brampton plant and I said I was sorry for them losing their jobs they said they weren’t they were just building the new charger. They wouldn’t say much more. Honestly i have my hemis. If they are gonna keep the hemis they gotta do some upgrades. I’ll never go ford but at the same time i respect them for constantly upgrading the 5.0
I have my Charger & Challenger hemi's so I'm good. But's it's nice to see the company heading in a good direction to entice me to trade in or get another Mopar down the road.
I have worked In Design at Chrysler for 20 years and I guarantee you they do not understand the American Market whatsoever not only that they don't give a crap about their employees or their products not to mention what American customers want does EV crap is going to go down the toilet. The car community has certainly changed drastically in the last 4 years - not really for the better!
Probably not a popular opinion, but I think the Hemi needs to be upgraded and stay with Ram and maybe Jeep. Treat it like Ford does with the 6.2 and Godzilla engines and leave them with the trucks. Dodge needs to do what Cadillac did with the CT6 and make a smaller displacement V8TT. The CT6-V gets 25+ MPG on the highway and does it with a bigger, heavier, and less aerodynamic sedan with AWD constantly engaged and does it while putting out like 550 HP and 600+ Ft Lb of torque. Dodge can probably modify the Maserati F154 to do that honestly. Those engines can put out Hellcat power depending on the application, and unlike the rest of the vehicles they're in the engines themselves are actually pretty good. Make the engine more standard like the Hemi by using parts that can be sourced easily and a FCA compatible computer, and you basically have the solution for a new V8 powered Charger.

CAFE standards are unfair to cars and allow Trucks/CUVs/SUVs alot more leeway. This is why they are more popular / heavily marketed. So ironically, CAFE has led to way higher consumption because more people drive trucks and SUVs than ever before (and in 99 percent of cases they aren't needed)

guy I don't really give a shit. I have 3 v8's in my driveway. That said maybe look into the EPA & see how it's slowly killing V8's. The only reason ford still has one (which is temporary) is because they sell a ton of 4 cylinders in their ECO class which offset the 5.0L pollution costs for now.

I love my Charger RT. But it also has 1800 miles and already has problems they “can’t replicate” when I dropped it off at the dealer a week ago. Pick it up tomorrow. May even trade it it on a Camaro or Mustang V8. Sure I’ll take a bit of a hit on the deal most likely, but I have very little faith in Stellantis at this point. Everything just about cost cost cost, cheap cheap cheap. At this point it doesn’t matter too much if they bring back the Hemis or not, it’s all going to be garbage builds anyway. Tavares is likely literally the worst CEO of a publicly traded company in history.

HEMI is outdated and can not keep up with actual world. But to go with full electric is another extreme moreover done the wrong way (670 hp simply seems like a joke side by side Tesla Plaid). They should have go with modern tech V8 hybrid motor. Keeping the brutal power but allowing the very low consumption in normal daily ride.

While a V8 may be a challenge to offer unless Trump becomes president again, the drivetrain and trunk can be changed to what most people are demanding. Almost nobody wants AWD in this car and wants RWD only. After all, almost all customers were choosing RWD in the previous Charger and Challenger and AWD remained very unpopular. The new Chevy Trax doesn’t offer AWD despite being an SUV unlike its predecessor because most customers chose FWD in the previous model. Finally, even the trunk, which is a tailgate instead of a proper sedan trunk with a fixed window is unwanted, most likely because the previous Charger was a true sedan. If Dodge fixes these issues, they can definitely decrease the criticism for this car. A V8 is needed but an I6 does give it an entry-level style engine when you think about it, since the majority of American cars until the 1980s had I6 and V8 engine options. However, such I6 engines from those times lacked performance unlike the Hurricane I6 and were more of an entry-level option, just like the V6 in the previous Charger, Challenger and 300. But that doesn’t mean a V8 is not needed. Unlike the drivetrain and trunk, Dodge will just have to fight for that. But at least they would have only one issue which means it’s the only thing they have to focus on to fight to fix.
I agree that the upcoming elections will make a definite difference in which way the automobile industry goes. I believe that’s why car news has been so slow with practically no announcements. They must be holding off long term plans until they know what they have to work with on the regulations side of the business 💪🏿🇺🇸🔥🇺🇸🔥🇺🇸✊🏿
Ford beat the emissions standards and continues to make V8 RWD sport cars. (Calling their EV "Mustang Mach-E" so they can claim that the Mustang namebrand is environmentally friendly + EcoBoost variants which are impressive in their own right).
It is entirely possible to continue to produce Hemi engines. But they won't, because they don't care.
A good reason to vote for Trump. I had no problem with EVs until they said they're going to basically force us to buy them after 2035. Why not offer both, and let the people decide? even if you're worried about emissions, it's not like there's that many people driving around in V8 Challengers. most people by me have Teslas and Priuses.
Dodge makes 426 HEMI crate engines based on the 6.4, and they make 610hp, all motor - no forced induction. They need to just send it and put them in the Charger.
Regardless of that.... Dodge became boiled down to a performance company making muscle cars. That is literally why, in ny opinion, Dodge still exists today, and why Dodge prospered in the first place.... why would they kill one of the two best selling vehicles, abd then ace the engine line that made them so profitable.... why....
We don't have the infrastructure for EVs. Stellantis pulled a fast one. Right now, EV production has had the breaks put on it. Remember, we don't have lithium deposits in America. Keep an eye on the Congo where most of the lithium comes from. If you're concerned about politics really understand the consequences the longer the conflict continues in the Congo. Unlike in Israel the United States isn't sending money or help in any form. Wonder why? Once the Congo is completely unstable we'll ride in on the white horse and save the day and take control of the lithium that's in your phones, laptops, and your cars eventually. Colonialism is still going on the apparatus has just changed. Destabilize, setup a Democratic leadership handpicked of course by us, and take over resources. Ain't nothin changed.
It doesn't depend on who is President with Ford and GM. It shouldn't depend on who's President with Dodge. Chrysler should have been the HYBRID/EV brand and Dodge could have been the HEMI Muscle brand.
