Sarah, Your tip of studying the reference picture is an excellent tip to follow. I also like that your painted part of the face before completing the eye,is a good thing to remember. The rest of the video makes a lot of sense and I plan to watch it again later when working on a horse. Thanks again for the fine tutorial.
Wow Sarah!! Your painting looks better than your reference photo!! I love the reflection and forms you captured so beautifully in your horses' eye. The texture you achieved in his hide, the nuanced and beautiful leather harness. Gorgeous.
Hi Sarah. Hope you're have a great vacation. Wonderful rendering, I love the reflexion in the eye, makes it even more alive. I would love to see how to paint fur and hair as well as a a complete horse, if you can. Thank you for this video. Much appreciated.
Hi Christine! I had a great vacation, thank you and will definitely be planning a tutorial on how to paint either a full horse or horse's head- and tackling how to render shorter hair/fur. 🐴😊
Thanks so much for this tutorial, I have been asked to paint a friend's horse, only the head mind you and the reference photo is awful with just a black area where the eye is, but with your help I can fill in the parts that I cannot see.
Hi Debbie! Thank you! Yes, I did a horse head! If you haven't seen it, the video is in two parts ...Part 1 here: th-cam.com/video/k9V5fvS6p8o/w-d-xo.html and part 2 here: th-cam.com/video/E0tKe0OUu8s/w-d-xo.html 😊 Hope the links work.. let me know if not 😊
@@SarahNewburyArt Thank you, my sister in law wants me to paint her horse and I am lost ! xo Thank you !! Your Eye is Better than the actual picture !!!
Please do the video on shorter hair/fur. I believe that's a make-it-or-break-it skill. Also, a video of a full horse head would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)
Hi Christie! Yes I do as it happens as I drew a few out for a demonstration I was doing. Its the same size as the one in the video (5 x 7") but isn't on very good quality paper. (Not cotton and not very thick!) I would be happy to send you one though if you want to give it a try? You could also transfer it to a better paper if you wish? Let me know. 😊
EXCELLENT horse-eye tutorial! Thank you.
Thank you so much!

Hi! I'll definitely be planning in a video tackling a horses head and how to paint short fur! 😊🐴
I would love to try this. Do you have a drawing available?

Hi, do you have a video of how to draw the pencil sketch of the eye?
Hi Doreen. Sorry I don't. I might have to do a video on how I do my pencil sketches!
