  • I work on a 60' Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite that has no brake or clutch hydraulic pressure after the owner replaced the master cylinder, hard lines across the firewall and the clutch slave cylinder

(without watching the whole thing) So air in the lines?
Did not expect bad cups in the master.
I love the bugeye, in general. I have two that I need to restore, a 58 and a 59. The 58 I want to keep as original as possible, the 59 though was converted into a race car, and I kind of want it to be resto-mod to a street-legal race car. I think I would choose some of those mods, but not the bonnet louvres or the hand holds to open the bonnet. Honestly, the rest of it is pretty clean and interesting. The rest of the design is so clean and minimalist, but then the bonnet is this field of louvres. They must have had bad overheating or vapor lock problems.
Smooth the joints? Sure? It does smooth out that backend.
    Front flip bonnet? Absolutely.
    That firewall? Wonderful.
Fender flares/wide wheels? OK? Maybe? I wouldn't turn down a car that had them.
Rerouting of the brake and clutch lines was a good idea, IMO, makes that engine bay even that much cleaner, but it would also look fine with a really well-sorted route and clip setup.
    Remote bleeder? Smart.
    Alternator conversion? Smart.
Weber side draft? Maybe not. I just like the SUs more.
    Headers? Absolutely.
Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to drive that car and be proud of it, though I might go looking to redo the bonnet at some point.
