- Madison Beer is back in the Genius Verified studio to break down a heartfelt track about her younger brother, "Ryder." The singer-songwriter says she's always wanted to pen this cut. "But," she explains, "I haven't been able to articulate the things that I wanted to until recent years. That's been with therapy and even with writing my book [where] I was able to discuss a lot of things I wasn't able to in years passed."
After finishing the moving and emotional song, Beer shared it with her sibling. "I was nervous," she adds. "He listened to the whole thing and I kind of looked at him for the first time. He was just trying not to let me see his face so hard and I just caught a tear roll down his face."
On this episode of VERIFIED, Madison breaks down the symbolism behind the song's lyrics. "Ryder" appears on Beer's latest album, Silence Between Songs. The project also features tracks like "Spinnin," "King of Everything," "Sweet Relief," and "Showed Me (How I Fell in Love with You)."

Seeing this in concert as a younger brother was probably one of the most emotional moments of my life, having my sister next to me at the concert really just made it even more of an emotional rollercoaster, Madison thank you for writing this song I truly don't think people think about it enough and as a brother and the youngest, I have seen both my sister thrive and be successful no matter what and now that we all are older, I think we all realize that every fight and every tear shed with each other was well worth it

When i first heard the song, i could only think of my brothers, and it pulled every string in my heart it could. We're all in our 20s now and we've been together through lots of stuff and there are so many things that we choose not to talk about to this day. And it breaks my heart because there are so many things we haven't healed from yet. I'm happy for madison that she chose to put it in a song coz what better way than to express and she even named it Ryder.
