Absolutely gorgeous. My mother side is from Lucca Italy. I’ve been up to Northern Italy further north I would love to go to many places in Tuscany and then down to I think I would be more inclined to the Adriatic side in the south of Italy. I would love to go to Capri. That’s my daughters name and those places I but I would have to first go to Pompeii, Herculaneum and then cut over down to the southern part of the Adriatic. I’ve been in northernmost part a few times a little bit of warm water north in October. There’s so many places in that area. We could just want to go, but I kinda have to pick and choose but for sure parts of Tuscany. Populonia monopoli then Herculaneum Vesuvius then Puglia.
That sounds like an amazing plan! Tuscany, Capri, and the Adriatic coast are all beautiful. Don't miss Pompeii and Herculaneum, they're fascinating. Enjoy your trip! ❤
That's a great question! Many of these picturesque villages have small local facilities for essential services like pharmacies, small markets, and primary schools. For more extensive services like hospitals, larger supermarkets, and specialized schools, residents typically travel to nearby larger towns or cities. These villages balance modern amenities with their charming, traditional atmosphere.
These are not villages. They are towns and cities. I’ve been to Pitigliano recently. It is not small. You say it has palaces. Villages don’t have palaces. Neither is Montepulciano. You actually call it a city.
Pitigliano is often described as a village, known for its unique urban landscape carved into the tufa rock. Even though it has significant structures like palaces, its atmosphere and size retain the charm of a village rather than a city. The designation can vary depending on how one perceives the features of the place, but for many, Pitigliano remains a delightful example of an Italian village.

Beautiful but I often wonder...where are the hospitals, pharmacy, fire station police station super markets schools etc
