My attention Barry.
Thanks Chris. I'm looking forward to your next video.
Bugger... You can have days like that! Still looked like a bit of fun though!
Thanks Doug. It seems when sailing is good it's great and when its bad, it's a life lesson. Always fun in hindsight, even if its scary at the time. We live and learn. Happy sailing.
If you rock the boat back and forth, the water will slosh out the sand below, deapening the clearance to help "release" it! The possible downside is sand working it's way into the centerboat trunk, making hard to drop when in deaper water. All that said, what a great spot to be "stuck!!! Thanks for sharing guys!
Thanks, all in all we were dealing with 1st world problems hey. Stuck for an extra day in a beautiful location with the only real down side been missing the best sailing day in the forecast. Thanks for watching.
Nice guys. Looks like.it all worked out in the end. Having our young fella aboard, one of the first things I did was remove the beautiful metho stove. We just use a gas camp stove now. Much easier and safer. It doesn't look the part though. We have also decided not to beach our Jedda anymore as the rudder seems to bash on the sand when swell hits the boat on incoming and out going tides. Also trying to sleep as the hull bangs on the sand I found annoying. North straddie still looked lovely, (apart from the rubbish left behind by idiots). Hope the next adventure goes smoothly. Boating always seems to be a mixture of pleasure and pain. Lachy
Hey Lachy, It did turn out okay just a bit scary and chaotic, boating definitely is full of ups and downs. We keep a butane cooker onboard too as backup but have been told by a few people to only use it outdoors because gas is heavier than air and if there's a leak could lead to a fire. After experiencing a metho fire I'm not sure which is safer. I suppose the benefit of metho is been able to extinguish the fire with water, assuming oil isn't involved.
I've found similar to you with banging noise as the hull comes to rest or floats on the changing tides. It seems as though the sea state and wind play a big part as I've had very pleasant sleeps and unpleasant sleeps depending on location and weather.
Thanks for watching. Hope we can bump in to you somewhere down the track.
@@VentureOffroadAustralia4x4 hmmmm that's an interesting point about the gas !! Safe sailing guys. Let us know if you are coming up again
I enjoyed another of your adventurers sailing, or not, all very interesting, if you do give the metho stove a going over, please do one of your how to fix it videos, there very informative, I have a old twin burner one in my boat, and wary of it, but so far it seems fine, I avoid large cook ware, like a full size fry pan, to keep it from over heating the stove burners. But I would like to see you putting yours through the hoops to understand mine better. I have tryed a Cobb cooker, they use heat beads, and more as a bbq than a stove, but stay cool to the touch, and can sit on the deck etc. Looking foward to your next video already, 😍
Thanks James. I will do a video on the metho stove in the near future. I do like it now that I'm used to it so I'll need to remove it from the boat, test and repair.
