We found an abandoned mine!.... The search for gold continues
I've got the gold bug it seems, so we're out prospecting again in search of the shiny stuff. This time we've found an old gold mine in the Jamieson area, in Victoria so we're going underground to explore the regions rich gold mining history. We also try a bit of panning and break out the metal detectors again.
Get out there and travel Australia, it's amazing.

DJI Air 3 | THE PROBLEM NOBODY'S TALKING ABOUT!!!!

Hi Baz, I've been watching your vids as we bought an ultimate 18 a few months ago and we are still working out how to rig it! We are just at the beginning, working out which sheets are which, and we haven't raised the mast as yet. If you were ever inclined to post a vid on what all the bits do on an ultimate, there's very little information out there! We are in central VIC and not far from Eppalock and Cairn Curran. I'm guessing we should connect with some other Ultimate owners to learn the basics. Thanks for the vids, they have been a wealth of useful information.

If you get LKTOP Air 3 200W charger hub and use your 120W charger to power it, you'll like it. This charger hub charges all three batteries simultaneously unlike DJI charger hub which can only charge one battery at a time. I bought two 120W USB-C charger bricks for about $40 to power LKTOP 200W hub charger. The charger hub has the same functions as DJI and more. It can put batteries in storage charge and displays batteries capacity in %, temperature, Watt. Go check it out.

    • @VentureOffroadAustralia4x4

Hey, that's a good observation. The outer seal sits in the back of the rotor/hub assembly behind the inner wheel bearing. At 27:46 I mentioned that I wasn't touching the wheel bearing because it had been replaced about a year ago. That's the reason I didn't use or make mention of the out seal. I would only replace it, if changing the wheel bearing or if the seal looked damaged. Hope your CV replacement went well.

I'll save you some time, folks. Here's the deal - the Fly More Combo doesn't come with a power supply for the drone. DJI doesn't mention it clearly on the box, and it's not in the inclusions list. So, despite spending $2,350 on the drone, you'll need to buy a separate power supply, costing around $129 AUD. DJI recommends their charger, but good luck finding it easily. I had to get a third-party charger with USB PD for faster charging. It's frustrating, and I think DJI needs to address this issue. Share your thoughts below and let's make sure DJI hears us.

Ended up using 4mm Dyneema from a trailer winch pack (hand to cut the hook off and splice in an eye) the pack said that it was for a 500Kg winch so it should be ok (4mm Dyneema should be stronger than 500Kg anyway) the old Dyneema was 3mm. I use a Bluettit portable power station model EB3A which has a 100 watt USB-C port. I mention this because inevitably you will take the drone to remote locations. Relying on your car battery and some cheap 12v adapter is not a good idea. I highly recommend investing in one of the modern compact LiFePO4 power stations. Yeh I know... another expense, but they are worth it. Good for around the house too. If the drone came with charger it would be annoying if you already owned a charger... for example, I would still use my Bluettit to charge, NOT one that might come with the drone. So I'd be complaining I paid for something I didn't want! That said, the box should clearly state "charger not included". :-)

You don’t need to file the alternator to make it fit the bottom mount. There is a bush in the bracket that you can slide out to give you the extra 0.7mm that you need. To do it I pushed a smaller bolt through the bolt hole then affixed two nuts. I then adjusted them so each one was at either end of the gap in the bracket, and then just tightened the one that was pressing against the bush so it pushed it back into the bracket. Removed the nuts and bolt and the alternator slotted right in. But boy I had some problems with the top bolt.

Thanks heaps for this comment. It will help me next time I need to replace an alternator and hopefully help many other people taking on this job too.

We’ve tried to find devil’s playground at toolangi and had no luck. Any chance you could give us some directions. Cheers.

Hey @philophactory its been while since I've been there but if memory serves me right it's between Wee Creek track and Marginal rd, north of Rocky track. Let me know if that helps you find it.

Peel looked lovely again. We are hoping to get there for a few days after Christmas. P.s we ran aground last time we went out. Entirely my fault, Pat was steering and I was streaming the AFL Grand final. She said I think we are getting shallow and for a moment I had a brain malfunction and thought the colours on Navionics was inverted ..... Gets exciting pretty quick!

It sure does get exciting quick sometimes. As long as no one is hurt and there's no damage to the boat, I suppose we just put it down to a learning experience. Have a good sail over the holiday period. I hope you get nice weather for it.

Nice work Barry. As the saying goes, there are two types of sailor, those that have run aground and those that are lying.

Thanks Daniel, I'd forgotten about that saying. That makes me feel better about it.

Thanks Josh, how much fun are trailer sailers and learning to sail? Sometimes I'm tempted to hide my mistakes but I do like to keep it real and it does make for an interesting video too 😀
