He obviously does not need a translator. He may have a strong accent but his grasp of the English language is better than most native speakers. He only chooses to switch into Korean when he needs to articulate his ideas in a very precise way.

Yes, he uses Korean to express more what's exactly in his mind and that's so appealing for me

@D E US politics do not move the needle in his world so that's a good thing. A great, great man, that some fringe character will always find something to say about. White America is very threatened by anything and anybody that looks and sounds different. They have also been brainwashed/convinced that speaking English equals intelligence. If that were true, they wouldn't be so triggered. Also if it were true, they wouldn't be lagging behind in creativity and technology. Sad but true. Watch someone be triggered by the truth.

@D E the right should give him more respect for such an accomplishment if that's what they're saying. Getting an award from a different country and not even speaking the language(even tho he can) 👏kudos to him, that doesn't happen to just anyone

it's true and i adore bong for this detail when he said that at the last chaotic scene was if you focus on where the kitchen knife was it was always on the havenots' hand or the people who were 'under', who struggled to kill each other but it sorta got out of hand or went over the border line inusmuch as that in mr park's perspective that the 'smell' is going beyond the line that the father of the poor family saw as also going beyond the line as ultimately offensive in his end made him capable of evidently piercing his way through that line and making him capable of doing something he wasn't ought to do which was to go for the kill.

When I started watching Korean movies, I too was amazed how they can make a drama that is a real tear jerker but at the same time a comedy. This is true of most Korean dramas and movies. I always say, only the Koreans can get away with this!!! Some of them are really good and can compete with American and European movies.

  • @TheHSoko

A movie that truly reflects our times. Although very Korean...There is something universal about wealth and poverty. There are lines in the film that will go down in cinematic history...
"even if she is rich, she is very nice I find" "I would be nice too if I were rich"
