Wow i think ive been on my nth time watching q&a's for parasite and as much as i'm admiring director bong and actor song more and more, i cant help but admire sharon choi the translator too! What a grace she's showing, very verbose and composed and smart and well articulated. It makes it more fun to watch all these videos about Parasite because wow!!
i can't agree with you more. and your comment is just what i want to say in englisl as a korean about the interview above...as if parasite has been one of the masterpieces, the way that they(Director. Bong, Main actor. Song, translator Shron) had a interviewis was so awesome as well! and as a korean his another hit movie, memories of murder released in korea back in 2003 was much more popular than parasite i remember
@@angelmm_ i bet you're going to like it..and other masterpieces of korean movies are recommendable such as "classic" "TaeGukGi: Brotherhood Of War"...you might be surprised of k-movies..
@@kevinlee1414 i just finished it and it's a mixed of many emotions especially now that there has been a solid news that the real life killer has been identified! Also, actually, a friend of mine is suggesting that i should watch Oldboy. She says that's one of the best Korean films she's seen so far.
I like how he mentioned the young boy from the park family because I too noticed that Mrs Park never showed him physical affection. This cleared some things for me
she recently said on a Variety article that she was hired after working briefly as an interpreter for Lee Chang-dong during the Burning press tour. she iniatially was supposed to just translate one of his interviews, but ended up getting hired to go with him to Cannes. and she just stuck around after that. thank god for that, she is amazing and has been one of the greatest parts of this year's award season!

Funny Song made few jokes but it is true he didnt win any award in the Korean film festival's but the beautiful actress playing Mrs Park did. And it was her first award ever.
I can't believe how such an interesting answer about the young boy character at the end came out, considering what the audience actually asked was such a vague and absurd question. I want to know more about the boy? She could have been more precise.
I really wish Bong would be willing to provide more insight than just answering questions on a very superficial level. The juxtaposition of the two houses for example. He gave a bit mord insight here than on the Tonight Show.
And what's interesting is that "Parasite," as good a film as it is, isn't unique in Korean cinema. Hopefully its wins worldwide will prompt more people to explore Korean cinema.
30:38 in Korea family means "eating mouth"? what does "eating mouth" mean? Non Koreans wouldn't understand the word by word translation like this. 식구 should've been translated into "people you eat meals together with=family " Sometimes translation should be done "meaning by meaning" not "word by word"
Ew, I read all of her (Mia Kim) comments above/below and she sounds like she has some issues. She's clearly salty with this translator for some reason (probably because she's dang good at what she (Mia Kim) is not), and as if this nitpicking can diminish the translator's AMAZING job. Do you personally have something against this translator? (*please don't answer that back cuz that'd be stupid.)
participate can't be used along with "story" . The verb "participate" is used along with "activities". she should have said "it's has been a long time since I was a part of a story like this/since I was featured in a story like this"
Maybe I'm wrong, but sis, you sound salty af. As a linguist, i think she did an excelent job. Rather than having a grammar police who stuttered through the interview, it's better to have interpreter who has great diction and deliver the nuance well even with some minor grammar mistakes. Grammar error IS crucial for written translation, but not so much for interpreting.
i bet your accent sucks so much compared to Sharon Choi's near perfect interpretation that you're jealous of it and you need to nitpick stuff in the comments. You're sad girl.
Sharon Choi, She really never missed what Mr. Bong said literally and even successful to deliver the nuance!
Wow!!! such a great translator!

That flood scene made be so sad for the poor family. I felt all the father’s emotions and i just wanted to cry for him

Bong and Song
Fantastic!!!
Bong Joon Ho is one of the best Directors. This film was such a deep and detailed social - and psychoanalysis.
I would have asked a great question to bong " where and how did u meet sharon"
That’s exactly what I wanted to ask!!

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 졸라 집착ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ친근쓰......와....와이파이와 모스부호의 상관관계은 전혀 몰랐는데... 진짜 봉준호의 영화에서 버릴껀 아무것도 없었다는것.......와이파이가 아리까리 했는데 이렇세 해석을....오ㅓㅇ
Best picture without nomination for acting shows how strong is story and script, and great acting which doesnt feel larger than life shadowing story.
Grear interpretation as always!

Literally were suggesting great questions and all this person could come up with was to ask about the rich kid... even Bong was underwhelmed lol
nice interview!!!
Song kang ho = National Treasure
GV진짜 재밌어요. 몰랐던 얘기도 더 잘끄집어네는거같네요
다송의 이야기에 대해 더 부가적을 알려주셔서 흥미로웠네요 트라우마에 트라우마가 겹치니 참 잔인하다 생각했었는데...ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Their thoughts are getting alike each other.
BONGTAIL! AMAZING!
통역 진짜 대박

many details I couldn't catch up with when I saw the movie.
식구해석에 소오름...
봉준호 감독은 천재 송강호는 세계적인 배우가 됬구나..
Song Kang Ho is surprisingly very funny :3
우와! 진짜 저렇게 정확하게 통역할 수 있나
통역사가 독서 진짜 많이 하신분같습니다. 아마 소설도 쓰실듯..맞죠? ㅎㅎ
내가 본 통역사 중에 진짜 최고인 듯,,미모도,,,

a reach.

Oh, My God!! What in the world!
Who put the caption at the bottom of the video?
It's not in English nor Korean and hard to understand.
Zumo~ na jooger~~~
졸라 ㅋㅋㅋ
졸라~~ ㅋㅋㅋ
대화 재밌네요. 근데 졸라란 단어를 공식적인 자리에서 ;;;
저도 흐믓하게 보다가 깜짝놀랐네요^^;;
Is sharon hot?

집구석에서 키보드로 통역하니깐 다 보이지 봉준호 옆에 두고 식구라는 말을 들었을 때 그런 긴장감 속에서 즉흥적으로 eating mouth를 떠올릴 수 있겠냐 통역은 재즈야 무슨 준비된 오케스트라 공연이 아니라고 eating mouth면 10점이야
니가 야심 있는 건 알겠는데 남을 인정하면서도 큰 꿈을 꿀 수 있는거여

4:31 he decided never to be in a film ->decided not to be in a film. You can't use "never" before "to +verb"

you again? pfff... why do you have to hate her so much?
