God I love my reaction to that question every time I hear it! I just bust into laughter and tears 😭. Way to be the real dr spunyinrings, Tom… I am happy that guys got to chat. Two of my favorite psychedelic producers in the same room, bouncing ideas and thoughts off the sounding board of each others minds. I love bills answer, 50grand, why would I want a shark arm! Idk man it’s your question lol. Lfgy, I got to listen to this again, I forgot that I never fully caught all of it. I guess that’s why it’s nice being me, I forget everything as time goes by and get to listen with fresh ears. Thanks for the laugh, I needed that!
Just found out this existed, I needed a new podcast to listen to since Joe Rogan experience has taken a major dip downhill. He is an Ableton guru and he has helped me so much getting started with Ableton live. His collaboration with KJ Sawka is amazing. KJ is a killer on the Roland kit , D’n’B tactician. Bill is no slouch on the SPD-SX and with finger drumming. I would love to get a copy of his SPD-SX kits so I could look how he builds them, try to tighten up my rig.
The mantra: "If you can't be grateful for what you got, you will never be grateful for what you get" - that's a really good one, thanks! So far I listened to every podcast, keep up the good work Bill !

I don't really get the whole 'simple UX' thing. I love Melda, Glitchmachines, or VirSyn Tera3, etc cause I know I can do alot with them whereas I never use sosig, Soundgoodizer, Nexus, etc cause I can't dial them in.
I think the question at the heart of it is of UI efficiency and consistency. Like, looking at Serum's mod assignments, once you know basic assignments you 'get it' and can apply it across pretty much any param. Similarly, with the 2nd order transfer curves, once you get Note or Vel assignments, you know how the transfer curves in the matrix works.
There's not really a ton of necessity (for most people) in knowing *exactly* how an algorithm works but it's important to be able to reach inside the machine and tweak parameters.
Right up there with my favourite podcasts eva!zthanks for opening up guys, it gives so much depth and perspective to your guys technical tutorials/courses. So much appreciation

Please take into consideration the fact that if you don't carry a fish tank with you this would pretty soon become a dead and rotting fish arm. Just saying let's not underestimate the many potential benefits of that.
