Oh my. I love me some hybrid hunter!! Boy does that thing come through the grass it's incredible I use that crankbait more than any other crankbait because we got a lot of shallow grass lakes in my area
Try the shallow dive when the grass gets above a foot from the surface that shallow one can be ran fairly fast and stay in 6” to 8” deep or burning it you can up to 20lb mono or braid and it stays at the 10” to 13” deep it’s a sleeper
Bought a Hybrid Hubter Jr. recently and first trip out seemed like it wanted to barrell roll over in the water once I got it going a certain speed, had to wind it real slow, but it's a slower reel and I wasn't burning it, so not sure if it was user error or something's up with it.

Strike king. Driving the privmces up and the quality down. Bought too many of their products to be highly disappointed. Their buzzbaits are a one in 3 runs right. For $10 that shouldnt be a problem. Cranks run crooked. Shouldnt have to tune a $10 crankbait. They're a joke
I’ve got a few like that but didn’t even use pliers just pulls the line and perfect but the chick magnet I have 2 full runs of then a couple colors I fish I have 5-6 of each same with the JR Chick mag. Then the Hybrid Hunter I have probably 50 or so from the full size and JR and 15of the shallow diver and have not had anyone of the not run. A few of the XD’s I’ve had problems with but the main thing is anything with KVD on it is cheep made and cheep dull hooks

Funny I just bought one yesterday in fire craw and had a ton of success the same day. So much easier to use here in FL with all this nasty grass.

I was using lures just like these in 1992, Rapala if I’m not mistaken.

Can you use a MH spinning rod with it?
If you use the HH JR or Shallow dive you can. But I would probably use 30lb braid and a 15-20 mono leader about 16”to24” long no longer than that.
