I just finished Beyond The Black River. It was really good, but something about Phoenix on the Sword sticks with me. Maybe it's because it was my first classic sword and sorcery experience in fiction.

I would never bother to make a top-x of anything, but I do have ONE s&s short story which I love very much indeed and is very dear and important to me for a large variety of reasons: Odds Against the Gods by Tanith Lee.
