  • In 1949, the Soviet Union shocked the world by testing their first atomic bomb, four years earlier than expected. Despite being wartime allies, Soviet spies had infiltrated the U.S. and Britain, stealing critical nuclear research. At the center of this espionage was Ursula Kuczynski, also known as "Sonya," a skilled wireless operator. Newly declassified files reveal how Sonya evaded capture while transmitting atomic secrets, changing the course of the Cold War. Her actions, along with others in her network, played a pivotal role in the USSR's rapid nuclear advancements.

Arguably, Klaus Fuchs helped keep the peace by creating a balance of power.
By helping the British and the Russians acquire the Atomic Bomb, he prevented the USA from being able to use the weapon with impunity.
For this reason, I do not regard Klaus Fuchs to be a traitor.

Furthermore, the British started the Atomic Bomb Project before the Americans, in North Wales. It was called the Tube Alloys Project.
Edward Teller, William Penney, Klaus Fuchs, and others were European.

We had a monopoly on the bomb from 1945 to 1949. Rather than use it, or even threaten it, the US and Britain conducted the Berlin Airlift when Stalin closed off access to Berlin. A very dangerous and expensive project. It was only when the Russians got the bomb that Stalin felt confident enough to sign off on Kim Il Sung's invasion of the South; leading to at least two million dead.

Same thing the Chinese are doing now. The worst part now is we know the Chinese are doing it yet the west still hires Chinese and are shocked when they are caught stealing. Who's the dummies? You wish for someone like J. Edgar Hoover to be in charge again.

Grapes of Wrath - the film, despite highlighting US poverty and deprivation was never shown in the USSR 🤫.
Why 😳? Because, despite this, all the families depicted owned trucks/cars! A luxury symbol to USSR working classes.
    Believe it or not
