HOW TO CHANGE THE POPULATION LIMIT:
1)
Windows XP: Go to: "C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Local Settings\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander 2"
Windows Vista/7: Go to: "C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander 2"
2) Open "Game.pref" with notepad or another text editor.
3) Use Ctrl+F and search for "UnitCap"
4) Change the number beside it to "1000" (or whatever you like) and save the file.
5) Enjoy. This will also transfer over to clients if you are the person hosting a multiplayer game. In addition to that, the population limit will indeed be displayed as the correct number in-game. Keep in mind that having armies of these magnitudes can SERIOUSLY slow down the game if you do not have a high-end computer.

RTS games, specifically sci fi RTS games always have the best most kickass and epic soundtracks. if you ever need a badass and epic sounding orchestral tune composed you find yourself howard mostrom, paul shchuegraf or vincent parrish

The fan-based client that rebalanced the whole game from the bottom up. Mods, game improvements, new units. Etc.

The fact that you can customize a game to your liking gives it so much more longevity. It makes the game stay fun for far longer.

For me, I think SupCom2 was watered down so that ppl with medium-ended machine could play it.
As SupCom1 machine requirement to play it was so high that only 'High-End' Machine of that time can handle the game without framrate drop or sudden CTD.
I knew this because I run both on same old, quite outdated PC, and SupCom2 performance was acceptable, framerate drop here and there but not bad, while in SupCom1 I risk CTD (Game Crash) everytime a nuke set off or hordes of 100+ units start fighting.
The only acu have a hand this would be a good melee weapon
UEF got Cybran Telesniped too many times in SupCom 1. It's natural they try and solve the problem lol.
shame that supreme commander 2 doesn´t much money to do tornements...i wold love to make one and play it myself! spread this mesage so that people buy this game and make this sucessful =D

Units get stuck a lot more in sc2 than in sc1. Just in SC2 they move as a group slightly better.
SupCom2 is by no means a bad game. You can disagree with the direction they took the franchise but it remains a solid game, nonetheless. Besides, your list is missing Total Annihilation, the game that spawned SupCom.
Its a confused fusion of starcraft and supreme commander.
Or a step back to the original TA if you will.
But even thats not quiet true because the research system exists, and I think its an overall negative turn.

This is probably one of my favorites.
On the note on population limits: I agree with the not having a very large army.
For example, an army composed of 1,000,000 Megalith II's is a very terrifying prospect.
(Not something I ever want to face again)
Consoles only have 200 unit cap. We wish we could have 1,000 like PC, but it's understandable because of performance issues.

The unitcap is not the problem. Its that research is obtuse, locks you into a strategy in the early game, makes unit balancing mid to late game an absolute mess and is venerally a horrible idea.
The other problem is that there is no longer resource streaming, which means you have to constantly babysit construcrion ques, or nothing above 100 mass cost ever gets built.

The tech system locks you into a certain strategy early game and is generally a terrible idea.
Also, if you're having trouble managing construction ques, there's this really cool thing you can do called getting better. And I know that sc2s system isn't the problem bc I have the exact problems you're having in faf. Just get better.

2: Even if you could, it doesn't have the necessary processing power.

Supcom 1 has absolitely braindead pathfinding. Ws is still bad, but better.
i am oppsote of yo, but i get what your coming from, i played 2 before 1 and fa, i personally prefer 2, its what me and my friends all play, i think i am the only one who owns 1 and fa.

You need an undergraduates in knowledge to figure out how to not fall flat on your face due to a stalled out economy. I'd rather spend my time strategising than doing Calc 3 just to have a functional base.

After having played about 10 hours of SC1, and with a couple hindred on SC1, FA and FAF combined, I have to say supreme commander 2 is a definite downgrade, but probably not for the reasons most people believe.
It has two primary flaws. The research system is a poor alternative to techlevels, and having to pay for units fits wery poorly with the rest of the game.
If research was thrown out, and in its place we had even two techlevels, plus experimentals, and the flowing economy came back, the game would play about 10 times more smoothly.

This music is fire, sure, but it's absolute shit compared to the supcom FA songs. First off, look at those names! Fuckin' "Brackman plots a plotty plot" "We are Cybran razors", "Aeon Loyalists are Handy Dandy", "My Way or the Highway" fucking masterpieces.
Judging a piece of music based on name is some fraternity level idiocy right there.
They re equally both as good from both games. What are you on ?

I almost only play RTS game, and I find Supreme Commander 2 pretty awesome. I haven't played Supreme Commander 1 so I can't compare with that one, but Supreme Commander 2 certainly isn't bad.
Well,yes i have played,i buyed it and sorry that i hate it,but i played all parts except SupCom 1,i hope that in 3,they will make techs 1,2,3,experimental or something like that,only 1 tech,makes the game kinda boring and cetera :/
Michal Biela I agree, tech levels were awesome. Unfortunately SupCom 1's pathing ruined the entire game. For that reason alone, I enjoy SupCom 2 more. And wow what an improvement. I have played a stupid number of different games, none have beat SupCom 2 in its pathing.
Michal Biela There won't ever be a 3. There is a spiritual sequel, though. It's called Planetary Annihilation.
