Awesome review, Weaver really hit this out of the ball park with their attention to detail. Hopefully soon we can see her sister 3713 "The Constitution"run on the mainline.
I just found out today that weaver had shut their doors! So Sad! they made awesome stuff for an awesome price! and I missed their sale! uggggghhhh, Gonna miss em :(.
Hi Eric • The best part of your videos is the history lesson you give your viewers. The prototypical story about Peter Cooper, the designer of this engine and the contest to name the engine and the winner being Mabel M. Edson from the Stone School, brings this engine review all together. Looks great, sounds & operations • Cheers from Michigan, the home of the Detroit, Tigers
ericstrains I bought this Weaver model and I am very happy with it. I live in Gloucester ,Ma.so I had to have it. The correct name of the school was The Stone Ct. School it is on Stone Ct. Gloucester and now is a 3 family home.
Eric: A great review and I agree with your "BFIMO". The Lionel sound package upgrade was long overdue and sounds good. The whistle this engine possesses sounds like the 3 chime Hancock model that a lot of UP steam locomotives used back in the day. Thanks for your efforts.
I'm local to the Weaver Models, I have the anniversary diesel, sounds great! If you ever have the chance to get your hands on one, go do it. Very nice engines!
I wish you had...and of course I wish some company made, an L&N Pacific like the 152 by Rogers Locomotive Works. I'd love to see a scale model of that in operation someday. I really enjoy your videos, they take me back to my childhood when I actually had a small Lionel setup.
FANTASTIC review as always Eric!!!!!!!! Looks like Weaver did a really great job with the P-4! .... Its great to hear that Lionel has released the updated sound package, this model really sounds nice! Anyways, thanks for the video bud and have a great one!
Leozilla 97 there is one, no. 3713, named “The Constitution” during a contest where school children could name B&M’s Pacific locomotives at the start of her career. When she was saved from scrap, her red and yellow speed lettering livery was replaced in favor of the box livery (kind of a shame seeing how nice her speed lettering looked). She’s currently housed at Steamtown, where she is currently undergoing a restoration for potential steam excursions. There’s a website about her and her restoration progress called Project3713 if you want more information: www.project3713.com/
B&M 3713 is going to be the replacement of CN 3254. Because during it's operation. 3254 had suffered a bent frame. It's last run was 2012 at Steamtown. Today 3254 is inside of the roundhouse at Steamtown. And Boston & Maine 3713 is still under restoration. It is going to return to operation sometime in the future.
8:56 WAIT A MINUTE! THTS A NORFOLK AND WESTERN J CLASS HANCOCK WHISTLE, THIS ENGINE HAD A B&M 6 CHIME WHISTLE, SO THIS IS THE COMPLETELY WRONG WHISTLE! LIONEL, WAT THE HELL?!
Brigid Sheamus's Life look bud it’s not going to be a correct whistle there are very few p4’s left so they went with a whistle chime that was already coded instead of going out and trying to record the correct whistle chime but thats the fun of model railroading you can have wacky engines off horn or whistle chimes heck I own a Santa Fe gp 20 that has a k5la for a horn chime so my point is nothing is going to be 100% accurate and if you are miffed by a whistle that doesn’t go with a locomotive then I suggest you get a new hobby buddy or just accept that once in a while you aren’t going to have the correct whistle chime or bell chime or the right crew chat.
It's because your reviews are usually long and more informative, but this one was shorter and more dull. I can understand that because you're in a hurry or you just want to get it over with, but next time, could you take the time in making it like your better reviews?
I get criticized if the reviews are too long, I get criticized if they're too short. It's 15 minutes long, which is about average length. Weaver is going to put this review on their website, so I wanted to keep it professional and to the point.
Gotta love that tooling. I'm a big B&M Enthusiast and this just makes my day. The detail is phenomenal
Awesome review, Weaver really hit this out of the ball park with their attention to detail. Hopefully soon we can see her sister 3713 "The Constitution"run on the mainline.
That whistle is beautiful, Great video!
I have the 3713 version, called The Constitution.the full size 3713 is under restoration at Steamtown in Scranton, PA.
Sweet locomotive Mr. Siegel.

Wow, I'm a 'B&Mer' , i think you just brought me back to O scale!!
It's sad to know that Weaver Models went out of business.
Switchpoint Productions they did?
Roundhouse Warrior they’ve been out of business for years now
That sucks. Their models were so good. Big Bang for the buck.
Are there still any of the Milwaukee road F6as still around from them?

Awesome engine! I'm glad they updated the sound! Brass detail is great!
Steamtown in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is working on restoring B&M #3713 to operational condition.
the best part of this video was the first 15 minutes. it was totally awesome!
I must say Weaver Models did an excellent job on the locomotive!
I am a huge fan of Boston & Maine steam locomotives, my most favorite being the P-4!
I'm local to the Weaver Models, I have the anniversary diesel, sounds great! If you ever have the chance to get your hands on one, go do it. Very nice engines!
Project 3713 is holding a raffle where the grand prize is an O Scale model of B&M 3713 made by Weaver. It's going on until September 4th.
Very improved sounds, I'm glad Lionel released newer railsounds to them and the market.
Thanks, bud!
That’s very nice locomotive 🚂
That locomotive holds a special place in my heart cuz I'm from Palermo Maine

Sounds like fun. Thought about a video of the Lincoln funeral train?
Yeah, it's coming.
Love the model.
I like the heart on the side
The whistle sounds like the 844 and the bigboy.
Eric steamtown is restoring p-4 #3713 to operating condition

@@EngineerDaylight it has last operated on it’s Farewell to Steam excursion at the B&M.
@@nathancorcoran5347 that was during the Late 50's iirc
Does weaver have an extended startup sounds?

Do u have have a 4-8-8-4 Big Boy?
there is a place in maine with the original caboose to the locomotive
It’s interesting that the smoke unit doesn’t puff..
The weaver smoke units weren't as fancy as Lionel and MTH

I'm not sure what you mean. Where in the video is it?

ericstrains technically, i wasn't critizising you. i was explaining it to you, which is completely different.
I woulda got 3713
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
That whistle sounds like crap
Sounds like they used the UP Big Boy whistle on it. Shame because the real P4's had a nice raspy 6 chime whistle.
yes, but the other whistle weaver used on their engines was fantastic
This is actually an N&W J class whistle. Lionel used it on their 611.
