  • One of my all time favourite mini-series is the 1995 BBC adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice". Ever since it's been released there has been both fan and published fiction which continues the story... but, what if Jane Austen herself wrote a sequel? I think she already has.

Thanks for all these videos. I'm learning a lot. Altho, also a movie lover, I've barely delved deep into the actors or the history (except for The Highlander, the two mini series, and 4 sequels and Back to the future).

Glad you like them! I guess I started because my Grandmother had all the biographies and was interested in them. Plus, I’ve always enjoyed Hollywood fokelore like “Hollywood Babylon” and such

I am also an annual watcher of the '95 BBC version. So good.

It really is. But, as I've seen many, many people who are fans of the 2005 film, I'm thinking it might be worth rewatching.

I don't think the Darcies would be such dismal parents as to allow their own children grow without true principles. I wouldn't wish them Tom, Maria and Julia. Let's hope they did better.

I understand how you feel. Remember Darcy had a good father and he grew up with good principals but carried them out with pride, and of course Mr Wickham. But, my focus is more on the journey of Fanny rather than the parents. I don’t think I made this clear enough in the video, but what I meant was that MP would provide a skeleton story that would need to be fleshed out with the characters from P&P. I actually do think that MP started out as a sequel, but Austen may have felt it to be too constricting, so pivoted to original characters. Anyway, thank you so much for watching and commenting! Having conversations in the comment section is my favourite part of TH-cam.
