    what a great video! i live in ocean park and would love to fish with you,never fished low tide and have been catching very small surfperch,only one big one,but then again haven't surf fished in 40 years. retired vet that is having so much fun at this beautiful spot

      Thank you for watching! Yes that would be fun to fish together! The big perch they usually tend to be farther out so I’m usually from the waist high lol. I usually cast out and run back to shore so I don’t get sucked in by those sneaker waves 🌊

    Smart man! I love how you bring clean water with you to clean your reel! I’ve thrown away so many reels after fishing salt water due to not putting them in clean water right away after fishing. Thank you for the knowledge brother! 😊

    Awesome video! Astoria bridge brings back so many memories. What are the little spring like things on the rig? I don’t have those and I am wondering if they are necessary. Also, I want to try this while backpacking and I am wondering if a 7.5 foot rod would work? Thanks for the good video!

    • @washingtonlife
      @washingtonlife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Samuel thank you for checking out my channel! Those spring like things are useless I don’t use them anymore and if you watch my recent videos I tie them a new way lol. I’m usually always trying different methods of tying and seeing which ones works best. Yes a 7.5 foot rod will work as long as you have waders to get into the water and cast it far out. My rod is a 10.5 foot so it helps me cast farther out since I use a spinning reel. Good luck and fish on!
