Khudi is the way towards understanding onself. Self limits, capacity, needs, understanding what you are and is present for you/in you
Eapecially in the light of truth (Deen) whicb helps to choose right side and limits.

Mazrat k sath, Salman sb should not have taken lead in discussion with Iqbal's scholar.His starting explanation was full of worth and how gentle he is to listen to him patiently.

Well i think he was explaining his point of view and they are not sitting there to agree and nod to what the elderly person is saying,they are gathered to discuss on it and the beauty is that we see two different perceptions.
I do not agree with Dr Sahab and I actually wanted Sir Salman to speak on it.
Although Dr Sahab is senior his perspective isnt quiet justifying.
This talk is recorded and caters to a large group of people and it will get quiet annoying as an audience to see that the other intellectuals are just sitting and listening rather than explaining their point of view in detail just because the person in front is elderly.
If one finds it disrespectful then i think its better to listen to particular lectures on the same by Dr Sahab rathen then a discussion otherwise the purpose of learning for which the session is being recorded is not served.

Thanks for explaining. The gentleman in white brought tears to my eyes. I wish he could have given the opportunity to speak by the gentleman in Green. Women are oppressed and they survive their families and in laws through killing their Khudi. They are forced to stay home, not take sports, educational choices available for men. I wish we use Iqbal’s concept of Khudi to allow women to prosper which would help us get to our success.

They use to come to Ask Rasual Allaha sa.w.ws what is Ruh? Ayat revealed
"And they ask you [O Muhammad] concerning the rooh [the spirit]. Say: ‘The rooh: it is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little.’ [Quran, Surah al-Israa 17:85
We as a human disrespect other human by slandering them belittling them every moment while not realizing we all have Ruh and it is very sacred to The Creator. In the eyes of Allaha Azowagel ruh is very precious. So much so that upon entering the body of Adam a.i Allaha subhanwtala commanded Angels to prostrate??? Can you imagine this command ?
Even Angels were in a big surprise when ruh entered the body ??? ....i stop there as if i can't say one more word other than Quran ....i will commit a sin ..... Ruh is very Honerable to the Creator while we as a human disrespect ,dishonor it evey second ? Why is it so ??? Because we don't live according to Quran ? Let alone we have no clue what Quran says ? It is an alive book !!!
All human lives revolve around Quran .
If I say Quran is a medium and we all suppose to travel (swim) in it will not be wrong , but without it, indeed we are lost is a true statement.
When they asked Seyeda Aisha r.a how is Rasual Allaha sa.w.ws Character in the house ? We all know how he is outside the house? She replied don't you read Quran ??? he Rasual Allaha sa.w.ws is a Walking Quran . Meaning his Character is according to Quran .
We say we are follower of Rasual Allaha sa.w.ws but we never adopt his Character as a guiding light . Because we don't know meaning of Quran .And if you don't know the meaning of Quran you can never Follow Your Nabi? Let alone understand him ? So open the Book of Allaha and read its meanings as well but only one requ at a time not more and try to comprehend what Allaha is saying to us. It is a guiding book.
Allaha Azowagel has created the Ruh perfect, immortal no death will fall upon ruh, forever existing. And gave it freedom to elevate it from perfection to higher perfections following Allaha Messanger and the Book .
Seyedena Iqbal.ra Khudi is the elevation of your Heavenly ruh with the guidance of the Messanger , Rasual Allaha sa.w.ws and the Book of Allaha Quran. You can never Follow Rasual Allaha sa.w.ws without opening of the Book and understanding its meanings, it's a journey once you open the Book and read it with meanings you understand the Character of Rasual Allaha sa.w.ws. So begin the journey to understand Rasual of Allaha MOHAMMED Mustafa sa.a.w.ws.
There are many of us who claim as followers but handful few who follow the Character of our beloved Nabi sa.a.w.ws.. Khudi is elevation of your ruh , your Character first.... following Rasual of Allaha sa.w.ws to become Mohamadey and then becoming Rabani as Allaha mentioned it Quran You ought to be Rabanni. (3:79.80)
وَلَـكِن كُونُواْ رَبَّـنِيِّينَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ الْكِتَـبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ(On the contrary (he would say), "Be you Rabbaniyyun, because you are teaching the Book, and you are studying it.'') means, the Messenger recommends the people to be Rabbaniyyun. Ibn `Abbas, Abu Razin and several others said that Rabbaniyyun means, "Wise, learned, and forbearing.'' Ad-Dahhak commented concerning Allah's statement
Now If you begin to grasp of What is Khudi elevation of your ruh to higher perfection and wish to begin your journey towards elevation how will you find yourself if you are going in the right direction or wrong ???
Let me give an example of a litmuspaper , it's a strip of paper dyed in litmus , when dipped in a solution or substance we find the pH balance of the substance If its acidic or alkaline.
What's the litmuspaper of Your journey towards the elevation . It is , If an ebada (worship) elevate you to be more kind and Merciful towards others humans, animals, plants, and everything you are being elevated and your ebada is elevating you following Character of Rasula Allaha sa.w.ws and the book and if an ebada worship makes you, your tongue ,hands and your nature abusive towards others you are in the presence of Sheytan getting more closer to devil .So open the Book of Allaha Quran and become aware of what is Khudi if you don't understand the meaning of Quran with translation then you will never know what is Khudi ....Simple Ya-Akhi.
So if you wish to find out an Alim is closer to Allaha or Sheytan just watch his tongue and behavior towards others if his way of Teaching speaking is was to hurt anyone or anything you will find your answer and it applies to us as well.
Let see how was your day today evaluate yourself every night , did your tongue hurt the feelings of any ruh ( your mother , father, wife,child, sister, brother, neighbor, worker , helper or did not ) if you did than you followed Sheytan not Rehman Ya-Akhi. Follow Rehman and be merciful to all around you is the beginning of the journey. May Allaha help us all who wish to elevate ourselves? You can never elevate yourself on your own unless ???
