- Crushing gravel with a TCI Manufacturing custom screen plant equipped with a Deister 8x20 screen and a TCI Manufacturing custom crushing plant equipped with a Lippmann 12x60 Jaw and Lippmann 42x36 roll crushers. All fed by a Northwest dragline 9570. Caterpillar D400 stockpiling.

Lived in the outside of Iowa City as a kid use to watch Stevens sand and gravel do the work for many years I enjoy seeing this

where in Iowa is this? I live in Western Iowa.
I noticed you just got a Liebherr Dragline. How do you like it? Have you tried a cone crusher instead of a roll/jaw? I used to work at a gravel pit here in Az and we had rocks as large as 8 inch. And it didn't have a problem crushing it. It was an El- Jay cone.
Brian Gardiner we love the Liebherr dragline, we came from Northwest mechanical dragline so this one is like a Cadillac so to say. The only problem we have had is the Urea system which they have now fixed with a permanent fix. We have never tried a cone crusher but most of our competition do, we feel we have a an advantage, with lower operating cost, and we don't plug up with clay which most of our pits have. Brian Gardiner we also crush rocks up to 12" with it setup, others seem to leave Rock piles that they can't crush without bringing in a primary crusher

Why does it take 45 seconds to start the conveyor?
The truck driver has to wait till the surge hopper fills up with material otherwise the belt will run dry. We like to keep a constant weight on the belt to improve accuracy. When he starts the conveyor the Truck load out system puts 40 tons on each time.
