    Omg that rolling feature on the oracle is awesome!! And the front water filling is great. I don’t understand why manufacturers put tanks on the back. Most people will put these under their counter.

    Hello and great video! Question... on the Oracle Touch when you select single or double, what does that exactly do? Since the grind dose I believe is set (unless i'm mistaken), and say you leave the double portafilter basket in, then what would be the machine be doing different if you selected a single vs a double? Thanks, and thanks for making all the great videos!

    You do a great job at reviews. Thank you. I’ve watched this and another video in full. I’m looking to upgrade from my Jura ena micro 1. My main deciding factor is budget, space, and convenience. I like the fact that the oracle has the sensor built in rather than at the bottom where it can be forgetful overtime and become blind to sensing if you didn’t clean it off.

    Do the Barista Touch and Oracle Touch have the same grinder burrs as the Express? Or do they tune them up in some way?

  • @bentaylor459

    So in terms of customisation for dialling in your coffee, you can adjust grind using the side wheel, and also grind time? I don’t like how it doesn’t measure grind weight into the portafilter but guess it’s not got a scale.
    Something I find annoying, if a grind size is adjusted on a grinder, when grinding for a set period of time, less coffee will be in the basket if the grind is fine, in comparison to a coarser grind. The machine I assume would not know this and you would have to increase grind duration to compensate :|
    Finally, how does this machine measure the output of the shot? Is it time based (20 second shot for example)? I base my shots on weight/volume (18g dose, 35g yield, aim between 20-30 seconds). This machine can only use the time variable in this and it is the least important factor of the 3.
    I own a Rancilio Silvia and am looking to upgrade but the above issues are really important to me.

    I believe you can control the amount of grind produced on the Oracle Touch by adjusting the burr grinder from the factory preset. You have to remove the grinder, remove the handle, rotate the inner dial to the number you want, replace the handle, then reinsert the grinder.

    • @zyborg47
      @zyborg47 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The problem is if you use pre-ground coffee you lose quality as you have no way to know how long it have been stored.
      Not sure how cheap you want beans to be. you can get supermarket own brands for around £2.30 for 227grams, pre-ground coffee is about the same price, sure you may get a bit more usable coffee in pre-ground, but I do not think it will be that much more.
      I do not buy supermarket coffee to be honest, I buy from two local roasters, much better coffee and you know it have been roasted a couple of days before you get it. Yes it is more expensive, sometimes double the price of what supermarkets sell, but I think it is worth it and to be honest, if I paid for a coffee machine the price of what the Oricle is, I would want great coffee to go in it.
      I only have a Gaggia classic and my Grinder is not the best by a long way, that will be sorted this year, but I still notice the difference between different coffee.

    • @Wigedywezzers1

      z hi. Thanks for your reply. I usually do buy beans from roasters but family member has bought me some ground coffee from Harrods for Xmas. • @gmofftarki
      @gmofftarki 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not that bad... Barista provides instructions for removing the burrs from the machine for cleaning and so on (which you can also, apparently, use to shim the bottom burr with a thicker washer to get a bit of a tighter grind if you feel the need to do so).
      Here's my perspective, though- by the time the burrs wear out on this thing, I'll be looking for a standalone grinder anyway. The built-in grinder design is great for price and for counter space, but there are some limitations like the fact that the beans become a bit warm from their proximity to the boiler(s). Also, the steps between adustments are a bit large. I'm on a 4 (on my Express) currently- 5 is unusably loose (pressure barely increases past pre-infusion) and 3 is way too tight (extremely bitter, pressure out of the machine's "espresso zone" on the pressure gauge).
      As such... I think a lot of people are going to find themselves, a year or two down the road, looking for a separate grinder (Baratza Sette 270, Rancilio Rocky, Eureka) in a midranged pricepoint as the first upgrade they make to the machine if they decide that they're serious about the hobby. I don't know that I'd necessarily go for one of the Touch models- if you're willing to push your budget to $1200 for the Barista Touch there are likely other options (Silvia + grinder? CC1 + grinder?) worth considering, and especially at $2500 for the Oracle Touch (E61 machine like Rocket Appartamente + a very good grinder), but the Express pretty well dominates its pricepoint, at least in my opinion.

      z it's basically because Breville in the UK is not the same as the Breville's here. These are Aussy Breville (imported to UK). UK Breville produces shite and isn't regarded as a good quality brand. No would people pay the prices asked for if it had Breville branding.

    when are machines going to grind, tamp and brew at the exact ground size, coffee volume/weight, tamping pressure, water pressure, water temperature, brewing time, water volume you want automatically? Also when are they going to texturize milk to exactly the right microfoam consistency and pour latte art exactly in the pattern you choose automatically as well? If I can preset all those settings from an smartphone app and it can do it perfectly automatically without me doing anything then I will buy it. Otherwise I'm sticking to my old fashioned manual grinder and espressomachine

      The barista touch allows you to froth on your own. It has that option. She failed to mention. I have this machine. But latte art is stupid anyways if you're going to drink it. Will get ruined. Doesn't ruin the taste. Coffee shops like Starbucks don't create latte art. Great machine. I love it

    I have the Oracle Touch and LOVE it. Only 'issue' is that it over-doses IMO (regularly around 24g of coffee is ground and tamped into the portafilter. I don't mind the result (MORE COFFEE!!) but I am burning through beans haha.

      sunshine1414 will it grind and tamp if you pour 20g in the hopper only

    • @sunshine1414
      @sunshine1414 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      lazypimp2 I don’t know actually. I haven’t tried. I do know that if the grinder runs out of beans before the grinding would normally stop, it just keeps grinding. I always stop it before it gets to the tamping point. I will see what happens next time it’s empty.
      Another review said that he had inconsistent shots when the hopper wasn’t full enough so I don’t think this is build for single dose grinding.

    Don't get the bambino version! Another failed attempt to make a small and affordable espresso machine. You'll need to hold the machine down when putting the portafiller for the not to flips on the counter. Either provide a better attachment to the kitchen countertop (like smoothie makers) or make a heavier appliance at the base.

I have viewed 20 different reviews of this machine and not one person thought "Hey lets try to make a simple large cup of coffee." A simple large (10ounce or larger) cup of coffee is what 99% of the coffee drinking population wants yet not a single review shows how to do that.
