I've noticed that more and more people nowadays (men and women alike) are waiting until a later point in their lives to get married and/or have children.
In real life, even the doormats wouldn't be such doormats like the protagonist character. There is a limit to patience and being good. Who in their right mind would allow a friend to attend their wedding after they burned your wedding dress, only nutcase and knuckleheads with absolutely no self-respect would do that.

Well she did get to rub salt in the wounds by letting Taylor see she didn't ruin her wedding, and made her feel uncomfortable by sitting her with her ex's friends. Petty revenge can do wonders.
