In this episode of practice and detachment, Swamiji explains the detachment from world and the reason behind it.
There is no happiness in this world, if there is then:
    - Everybody should get the happiness from the same object
    - Happiness should always remain same everyday
    - Everybody should get the same amount happiness from that object.
The reason everybody's experience of happiness varies shows there is no happiness in this world. If so then why not practice detachment, watch this beautiful clip which explains it all.
uy the complete DVD-set of Patanjali Yoga Sutras here: www.jkyog.org/store/
Maharshi Patanjali, one of the six sages who wrote Shad Darshan (the six-philosophical theses,) is a highly regarded Sanskrit scholar with multifaceted dimensions. His Yog Sutras(also known as Yog Darshan) that primarily deals with sadhana or spiritual practices is in the form of sutras. These sutras are “simple yet effective aphorisms that have strung the philosophy,” says Swami Mukundananda ji. The Yog Sutras are not only ancient but also very practical. Modern Psychologists too are discovering its utility in guarding or in regaining mental health.
In this preamble to Patanjali Yog Sutras, Swamiji introduces us to one of the primary requisites for spiritual progress, while answering these questions in a lucid manner - Who is Patanjali? What was the purpose of his birth? How did Yog Sutras come about? What are the elements of Yog Sutras?.
    About Swami Mukundananda:

Guruji, our mind cheats us that there is happiness in an object or person.but in reality happiness comes from within because our soul is the centre of eternal happiness or bliss. Soul is a speck of god.

In this amazing clip, Swamiji says that mere detachment from the material world is not enough to control the search for happiness. If we accept that we are the soul, then our search for happiness would be in the right direction. Swamiji beautifully explains that the bliss the soul is searching for, is infinite and unending. True bliss is neither temporary nor limited.

True happiness and bliss is infinite, ever-fresh and ever-lasting! The happiness we get from the world is the opposite as it is temporary and fleeting.

Conquest of the mind will be by slow and steady practice. Be detached from worldly desires and sense objects. Viveka (discrimination) and vairagya (renunciation). Happiness is our perception of an object. Happiness will not come from material objects. The source of happiness is God!

Swamiji explains detachment in this video. Not everybody experiences the same level of happiness all the time from an object, hence material world is not the source of happiness and that should be the basis of detachment from the world.
