This movie is EPIC. It is truly a brilliant piece or work. Jeymes Samuels did a phenomenal job writing the script and bringing this to life ... there were twists and turns, life lessons, it was sooooooooooooooooooooo good. Words cannot fully express. The acting was superb. LaKeith did a beautiflul job... just beautiful. I highly recommend this film.

This movie is worth saving. Enjoyed it so much. This was so worth the watch. I know I am being repetitive, but I don't care. I thought the movie was going to be another horrid hollywood production since they always try to push out the imagery that our people are bad. This movie however, depicted our people in a historically accurate context with so much morality it was inspiring. I Didn't even want to use the washroom it was so mind blowing. Shout out to the director and how could you not love Clarence? He embodies all of our people. We needed to see this.

This movie was shocking. I was reeling over all the alternative narratives that it parallels all at once😮
I love it's cinema photography! All the choices made on all aspects was perfect.
Even it's release date which is around the time the industry likes to release or rebroadcast slave movies.
I am a purveyor of truth and am glad this movie opens discussion on a lot of history and culture of biblical times.
Thank you for such an impeccably done thought provoking epic relatable lovable film.

Something that I thought might be a possibility. They named the main character Clarence and he was the 13th apostle. There are many 5% teachings in the movie and I suspect they named the character Clarence because of Clarence 13X. It might just be a coincidence, but Hov being involved and hearing Jeymes saying,”Peace to the God”. Leads me to believe it isn’t a coincidence. Awesome! It would be awesome to see a sequel. I don’t want to mess up the movie for anyone, but they definitely should do a sequel. Such an awesome character!

Had to turn the interview off after 4:47.. I haven't seen the movie but a Brief synopsis would have been fine. Going into an actual detail of the storyline spoils the movie. It's called a spoiler. SO STOP WATCHING AT 4:40 If you don't wanna hear a spoiler.

Yeah with “peace to the gods” draws similarities to in the Garden of Eden when the serpent told Eve about eating from the Tree of Life, “ye will be like gods” meaning creators. The start of the physical beings, the physical Earth because before that they were spiritual beings.

Your ignorance knows no bounds brother. Go search black people in Ancient Egypt.
Social Status in ancient Egypt: Nail painting was not merely a cosmetic practice but a symbol of social hierarchy. Both men and women painted their nails, and the colors used often indicated one’s social status. Use of Henna: The Egyptians used henna to dye their nails. Higher classes favored deep shades of red and brown, while the lower classes used paler hues.
Pharaohs and Nobility: Male pharaohs and nobles painted their nails to signify their elevated status. For instance, dark red was associated with the highest social ranks.

God forgive me because I originally judged this trailer harshly myself because I immediately thought it was blasphemous but when I SAW THE MOVIE FOR MYSELF, it was not at all that way. In fact, it made me have more patience for unbelievers who struggle. As Christians we forget that coming to Christ is a journey for ALL and that's what matters in the end. What Clarence used for evil, Christ used for good in the end. Who cares what the actors look like, who cares that it's not 100% biblically accurate, and who cares that it's not the usual Christian movie with perfect characters who never curse. If you can laugh when a black man is feminized and calls himself Madea while in a dress, can watch black movies/series that portray black on black crime, laugh at black comedy that divides black men & women from staying monogamous, and pop your fingers to blasphemous rap/r&b that clearly promotes idolatry and fornication, then you can put the stone down before you cast it.
Stop for one minute and use this rare opportunity within Hollywood to introduce the topic of Christ and the how Clarence stopped just thinking what was best for him, but giving his life up for others. Take a moment to talk about the division of black men in the beginning of the film and how they stood up & helped one another in the end. I'm not a fan of JAY-Z and Hollywood sins, but just like Clarence's motives, Jay-Z may not have any clue why he was a part of this movie. God can use ANYTHING to get His word out, even through the most UNLIKELY person.
There's a CLEAR message in this movie that we are ALL sinners, but it is Christ who uses who HE wants to and THANK GOD we aren't judged by man who looks at the outward appearance of this movie, but the heart of the internal message which is to BELIEVE in HIM!
