G Derty - Started off recording in hotel rooms, Uniting all Filipinos artist across map, Consistency

Pulled up to San Mateo, CA to learn about G Derty and his music journey. He mentions how he grew up with his mom bouncing around San Mateo renting rooms and apartments. G Derty is really prideful when it comes to the Filipino culture and talks about how the culture is united and looks out for one another. Alot of Filipino families live under one roof even if they don't know each other. G Derty mentions having 3 siblings back in the Philippines. He also mentions that his mom isnt like the average filipino mom. She is laid back and understands life being different here in the U.S. G Derty started helping his mom with rent in his teenage years because she was a single parent and he was at the age where he could move around on his own. From the ages (17-26) G Derty was in and out of jail. The fourth time he got arrested he ended up going to prison. G Derty mentions how going to prison really gave him some clarity because he was surrounded by grown men who were doing a lot of time and some of them aren't ever getting out.
