I actually LOVE that in ANY OTHER SCENARIO Nicholas Cantu (the va for gumball) would 100% be cancelled. But becae it's dream, everyone is just ok with it.
I have seen a few of these short animations about the incident, and based on what I have seen at the time of posting this message, I think that there would've been a strong likelihood that Nicholas wouldn't get canceled if he were speaking to someone else, albeit there's no way I could tell for certain due to the unpredictable emotion driven idiotic nature of cancel culture. It's also possible that worse behavior from Nicholas did occur, but I haven't heard it yet due to the animations excluding dialogue.
• Nicholas described himself in the clip as having disorders that are attributes that hinder him from using his intelligence to the fullest, so there is a mitigating factor. It's also possible that he was drunk, which a lot of people would see as a good excuse.
• According to Wikipedia, Nicholas came out as pansexual on Twitter during December 2022. This means that him saying the F-slur is likely not treated as an offense by the public.
