Seriously... I'm a 40 year old man and watching these videos makes me want to start playing with cars all over again! I'd love to be able to do what you do but I don't have the steady hand for it... so I'll just enjoy watching you do it. Great work. 👌🏼
Thanks James..... I'm 43! I played with them all as a kid, always built models, restored and built real cars and bikes.... And always came back to restoring these. I thought I'd film them in recent times and have to say this has far been the most enjoyable, therapeutic and relaxing hobby I've ever enjoyed. As long as your happy brother go for it 👍🏻
Thank you! I hope you do get cracking with them. Its a great little hobby that takes your mind away for a few hours at a time and chills you out in my opinion.
It's great that you enhance the cars with detail painting and touch ups. That's what makes a hobby special. You're taking it to another level. Way cool.
All you need is a miniature Carlos Saintz or Mika Hakkonen in your diorama of the Monte Carlo Rallye. The mid 80s were very strong memories for me, before they were discontinued on TV. Sure miss the coverage on Sunday afternoons!
I agree Shaun they are great memories for me too. I could never understand as a kid why a rally would be on for three days and you got 15 minutes of airing a night, if you were lucky, and maybe 30 mins on a Sunday of mainly repeated footage. A football game would have an hours pre-nattering, the game and an hours scrutiny afterwards taking up the whole afternoon!
Amazing Job, excellent detail especially with the added flaps, spoiler, exhaust. New wheels really suit it. Top Job, can't wait to see how you make your own decals. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
another fantastic video!!!!!.i think these videos are just about right time wise as theres always a lot to do to these diecast cars.if they are too short it feels like we are missing things.keep posting and we will all keep watching
Thank you Lee its appreciated :) Agree on the time too as I cut a lot. Anymore I feel would be to messy and leave people wondering why I've skipped bits. I try to keep it flowing with different camera changes to liven it up a bit. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Thank you :) They're all mine from a kid so it's come full circle playing with them, wrecking them and now restoring them. I put my nose in charity shops now and then though ;)
you restore toys and somewhere along the way they turn into scale models worthy of being in a display case... and thats almost abit crazy.... brilliantly crazy that is :)
I really love the work you do on these cars. I wish I still had the cars I played with as a kid. We still have a box of my sons cars that are 10 to 17 years old.
It's a great little hobby. Relatively inexpensive to set up with some basic tools and finding the right cars to do can be peanuts, if you go with what you like rather than follow the crowd.
The finished result is fantastic! those extra details. The wheels, and the windows really make the difference. Looking forward to the next video ;) will have a go at a rally car myself!
I've only been customizing 1/64 scale for about 2 years and I'm really glad you've brought your take on it to you tube thanks another informative video
Thanks Ryan :) Its a great little hobby as the new cars are inexpensive and you can play around and better your skills without breaking the bank. I've spent more in McDonald's than on a few cars rebuilding them. Go be creative and enjoy my friend :)
I love watching these Matchbox/Hot Wheels resto channels. They are so fun yet relaxing to watch. I just recently stumbled on this channel, and I absolutely love it. You have made some of my most favorite vids on this, and this video in particular is incredible. The finite level of detail is totally impressive, and the attention to simple details make your cars stand out above the rest. I can't wait for more!!!
Good work!! Inspiring stuff. I'm stripping the paint on my first ever diecast project this week a Hotwheels Auburn 852. I hope to get as good results as you can get one day. Keep the videos coming!
My favorite rally cars were the "killer B's", I know why they outlawed them but they made for some exciting situations. Another outstanding rebuild, I love the details that you add to these cars!
What a SUPER job ! I'm sure I felt gravel hit me there at the end ... Thank god you put those gravel guards on ... like the realistic door glass ... truely a WRC blast from the past.
Wow thank you very much its appreciated :) There's plenty in my stock to keep me going for a lifetime, so barring no crisis I'll be around for sometime to come. Thank you for a great comment, its made my day :)
Well you explain what your doing your not to dull you actually reply to your commenters unlike other people and you have got quite a creative mindset e.g the little garage seen you have with the small car jack and lift which is amazing keep on going I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next
@@JerryBond-2004 Thanks Kyle I do cringe at the sound of my own voice, but don't we all. There's lots to go at so I hope I can keep you entertained with future features. All the best my friend:)
Absolutely brilliant. Makes me miss my old matchbox peugeot. And it's really cool to see the detail you add to your cars. I might have to try some of this myself.
@@SidewaysKing75 I bet. I tried a bit of warhammer 40k as a teen, and though I never got too into the actual game, I rather enjoyed assembling and painting the miniatures. Similar skill set to doing my make up, in many ways.

Another fantastic tutorial, and once again you certainly have the finesse of fine details in bringing these old school matchbox cars back to life.No worries with video run time gladly watch longer!
Thank you its appreciated. Good to know the run time is OK. It is a balancing act I did cut out a lot more again as I don't really want to do Parts 1 & 2 to builds. :)
That's a great job. I like the way you take a standard little toy worth just a few pounds and you make something unique and special... I am inspired to have a go.
Bellisimo!!!! Absolutely fantastic work mate. Watched many similar vids but no one details them, been waiting for some one like you to come along. Can’t wait for the next one. Don’t leave it too long.👍
This never gets old for me. The details that you manage to replicate, well, I wouldn't even think of most of them. Are we interested in detail video's of how you do things? Hell yes! I do hope the 131 Abarth in the background is going to get the SK75 treatment at some point. That is one I owned myself as an ankle biter and "modified" with a file to replicate "crash damage." As always, I love watching you work, and as a beginner to making over model cars I am learning so much. Thanks for sharing your experiences dude.
Thank you Pete it is appreciated. I love your comments and always read them as 'Holly' which makes me LOL ;) Yes the 131 will get done at some point, it was a great car!
I think your video are long but that's not something to complain about! if I'm not interested in a part i skip over it lol but what should be said is your videos are very well made and you cover ever aspect of the restoration and that's fantastic! Well done!
Thanks Farid. Its my favourite form of Motorsport and have followed this as long as I can remember. I bumped it up the project list as I couldn't wait any longer :)
Great stuff! Great skill, technique, attention to detail and also taste! Just bought a yellow Matchbox Peugeot 205 yesterday but it is in too good condition to be modified! Personally I think it is really nice to overhaul "bruised" toy cars but the ones in good condition should be untouched!
Mine too James. I've been a fan as far back as I can remember, All Era's of this sport had legendary cars and drivers and its one of the greatest spectacles, never a dull moment. I have plenty more to go at and will get on them soon. Thanks for commenting and watching :)
Nice to see regular cars that people might not normally think twice about restoring given a first class going over. Great result

Considering how small matchbox cars are, you've added an incredible amount of detail here. Brilliant as always
Very good choice of model and customisation. Rare to see race models being restored with Race theme instead of the usual tuner look.
5* :)
