    Seriously... I'm a 40 year old man and watching these videos makes me want to start playing with cars all over again! I'd love to be able to do what you do but I don't have the steady hand for it... so I'll just enjoy watching you do it. Great work. 👌🏼

    • @SidewaysKing75
      @SidewaysKing75  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks James..... I'm 43! I played with them all as a kid, always built models, restored and built real cars and bikes.... And always came back to restoring these. I thought I'd film them in recent times and have to say this has far been the most enjoyable, therapeutic and relaxing hobby I've ever enjoyed. As long as your happy brother go for it 👍🏻

    Nice to see regular cars that people might not normally think twice about restoring given a first class going over. Great result

  • @shaunbrowne3963

    All you need is a miniature Carlos Saintz or Mika Hakkonen in your diorama of the Monte Carlo Rallye. The mid 80s were very strong memories for me, before they were discontinued on TV. Sure miss the coverage on Sunday afternoons!

    • @SidewaysKing75
      @SidewaysKing75  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree Shaun they are great memories for me too. I could never understand as a kid why a rally would be on for three days and you got 15 minutes of airing a night, if you were lucky, and maybe 30 mins on a Sunday of mainly repeated footage. A football game would have an hours pre-nattering, the game and an hours scrutiny afterwards taking up the whole afternoon!

    This never gets old for me. The details that you manage to replicate, well, I wouldn't even think of most of them.
    Are we interested in detail video's of how you do things? Hell yes!
    I do hope the 131 Abarth in the background is going to get the SK75 treatment at some point. That is one I owned myself as an ankle biter and "modified" with a file to replicate "crash damage."
    As always, I love watching you work, and as a beginner to making over model cars I am learning so much. Thanks for sharing your experiences dude.

    I am enjoying going back and viewing your older videos. I really like the windows, and love the engine bay and dashboard details. I sure wish you lived nearby, and took on apprentices :D
    Cars are a passion of mine, but price, space and portability, makes diecast vehicles more friendly for me! Well, and playing with them, with my wild and funny 3 daughters (9, 5 and 2 yrs old). I want them to love cars(know how to work on them) and be a music junky, like me. My goal is to one day have a house with a garage, then the kids and I will have a place to hang out and restore old diecast vehicles! Thank you, for sharing your magic with us. Hope you and yours, are doing great

      Thanks for watching its appreciated.... its something that has always stayed with me, thr interest in my old childhood toys. I had a phase of 1/24th kits and RC cars but they came and went.
      Having been car and bike mad for so long a change in circumstances sadly dictated they had to go.... whilst sat in the garage one day I started fiddling with these and by chance looked on Instagram and found quite the underground scene with these .... and the rest is history.
      I can tell you this much, I've had more enjoyment and met / spoke with much nicer people than any car and motorcycle club I've ever been a part of.
      Best wishes, keep safe and always have a dream 👍🏻

    Have you considered using a smaller drill bit when removing the rivet so you don't have to use a washer when re-assembling?
    I do like the extra details you added with painting the interior and engine. Also, great idea with the new windows, exhaust and wing. It's nice to see someone not do just a straight restoration. Absolutely brilliant.

    • @SidewaysKing75
      @SidewaysKing75  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you I appreciate it.
      Its always hit and miss with the rivet removal for me. Sometimes i get them clean off others it seems to chew up and spread and I've no alternative but to add a washer. Some are better than others :)
      Thanks for watching!
