1) Divide music into sections
2) Practice by sections: Check your memorization with a metronome ( Slow Tempo)
3) Analyze the section; chord progression, Chord names, etc
4) Shadow practice
Ensure to visualize the score in your head while doing Shadow practice

Indeed You got the point. This is one of the greatest tips I could ever share. Memorizing by ear and muscle is extremely risky for accurate performing. Shadow practice helps us to learn all the details of music that we need, prevent from neglecting essence of music, and secure our memorization. It is my great pleasure!
