After being enforced to follow-on Sri Lanka were all out for 233 runs in 2nd innings.
Captain Arjuna Ranatunga batted superbly for his 76 in 2nd innings.
Aamer Sohail picked up 4 wickets in 2nd innings.
Pakistan won the match.

His father Hanif said the politics and match fixing were responsible for his sons demise from the team.

रमीज राजा को इससे पहले पिछले 2 सालों से टीम से बाहर किया हुआ था। उस दौरान सलीम मलिक और वसीम अकरम कप्तान थे। लेकिन जैसे ही सलीम मलिक कप्तानी से हटे उसके बाद रमीज को कैप्टंसी दी गई लेकिन वसीम ने रमीज राजा को पूरी लाइट में दिखा कर उन्हें टीम से बाहर करवा दिया था। और 1996 WC से पहले वसीम को कप्तान बना दिया गया।
