A truly equal ratio is unrealistic considering that Miku straight up has way more songs that actually exist. However, it could stand to have more of the others. I wish the theme song of a Diva game would actually be a song sung by all of them.
On one hand, we didn't get Bring it on or Unknown Mother Goose, the two songs that are highly requested. On the other hand, we got Roki and the first Mafumafu song in the Project Diva franchise. Roki is a really great song, and I'm glad that Mafumafu has some representation in this game, but I hope that we get more than 4 DLC songs so that we could get more highly requested songs in the future.
I think the DLC ideal is simultaneous releases for 39s and FT of entirely new songs (also missing: Kimagure Mercy, Doctor=Funk Beat), the remaining songs to be ported from Mirai (Daughter & Servant of Evil, Animal Fortune-telling- the less likely return of the GUMI duets), and songs from X (I NEED Brain Revolution Girl, Raspberry * Monster, and The Lost One's Weeping with the FT gameplay style). For FT songs that got left out of 39s I'd prefer one big pack after launch of fan favorites like Roshin Yukai, Double Lariat, and Change Me. Having smaller packs of 4 aside from the theme song pack made for early adopters would feel kinda scummy ngl

I think they don't want to get too near of project diva x songs,the only songs if the game that made it are "LOL" and "the first sound",songs that i think will have a different PV than the x version
Hiyoko Saionji Damn it I loved the selection in project diva x too. There were a lot of Miku songs in there but I really enjoyed Brain Revolution Girl, Love Trial, Tale of Deep Sea Lily, Humorous Dream of Mrs. Pumpkin, Holy Lance Explosion Boy and many more. I really wanted to see at least a few of them come back but oh well :’) stuck playing Project Diva X for those songs I guess
Ok everyone, so the reason that Unknown Mother Goose isn’t going to be in this game is that Wowaka passed away this year (rest in peace, we all love you) and the creators of the songs get to choose the PVs for the games. They have no idea what Wowaka wanted, but probably would’ve put it in if they did.
Crap, that became my favorite modern vocaloid song and if it isn't getting added... :( this is so sad man at least Rolling Girl, Two-sided lovers and Unhappy Refrain are all back! You know, I'd prefer the song got in as just the original video, like Dreamin' Chuchu or Sand Planet
Yeah I heard Mafumafu for the first time when Jigsaw Puzzle was announced for the game and I like some of his songs with him singing now (thanks for introducing me to a great new artist Project Diva Mega 39s) :)

A lot of people complain and even some said this game is cashgrab but as someone who could never got one diva games I'm happy there are a lot of music that I love and I will play this game and discover some new music that I will love ^^)
I had Project Mirai DX before- the only Miku game I have, so 101 songs compared to 48 is a lot better, Sad they didn't have more or at least a few better songs from the other Project Diva games but that doesn't mean I don't want it owo-
Also, wasn’t Double Lariat one of the songs that originally got Luka popular and more well known? I feel like it should be in there for at least that reason. Hell, weren’t they bringing back “all the songs from past games” or something like that? Then Double Lariat should have definitely been included just because of that.
it's prolly a pv thing. DYE sounds bad but the PV has a fair amount of production value to it. Double Lariat's PV looks outdated in comparison so they decided to cut it

Tarou Chan your point? Super Mario is called Super MARIO and it often includes other characters in the spotlight. My point is, many games that focus on a character but want to give the spotlight to others do it in a way that they don’t overshadow the main one BUT their presence can still be felt. You can easily forget that MEIKO is in this game due to her pitiful 8 songs out of the 100+ (the worst part being, she isn’t even the original vocal in half I think): she could have easily been excluded in order to get some iconic songs that got cut back.

Giga is an amazing producer. They really pick sides tbh 😞. I remember playing one PD game and there were like 7 songs from ryo. I think they're fine but I would like more representation.

Are you kidding?? MEIKO only has Piano x Forte x Scandal, her KAITO duets, Jitterbug and four other songs where she's AN OPTION. Honestly they've always done her dirty but removing all of her other songs like Kowase-Kowase and Change Me just makes me think what even was the point of having her or KAITO in this game :( I am really happy about Jitterbug though :)
I am amazed by how good they make the vocaloids look in this anime 2d/3d style, I know that this decision was made due to the hardware of the switch in mind, but they actually nailed it, they look great, and all project diva games also look amazing since the psp, so I really hope this game is no exception to that.
Technically four (I think) counting Snowman, 1925, Embarrassment Hiding Adolescence and Piano x Forte x Scandal, although only one of those is a song he specifically is known for singing. But yeah, I'm pissed about it too.

Kokoro is about as slow as I can really enjoy. I like Sakura no Ame enough as a song, but Soundless Voice is the worst possible song to rep Hitoshizuku-P × Yama△ in a rhythm game. Amazing Dolce in X was way better.
I mean, as long as it's good I'm fine with Slow songs, plus, it can be practice when going for higher difficulty, I personally love Song of Life, super easy to play even in Extreme, but keep in mind some ppl are new, I just started with this series like 2 weeks ago, bought all the DLC for Future Tone.

Wowakas passing made it so that sega couldn’t add unknown mother goose because they don’t know what wowaka would have wanted for the pv since each pv is up to the producer. plus he hadn’t told them if they had the rights to use it in the game, thus it had to be out 2. Honestly, not gonna lie, I'm really disappointed with the Kaito selection. Virtually all of his songs are duets this time around, and his most iconic solo songs were omitted. As a huge Kaito fan, I'm sad about the selection, but I guess at least he got something rather than nothing :/
Part of me really wants ever new miku installment to have solely brand new tracks. Getting the same 100+ tracks per game is getting stale, especially when future tone exists to cover just about all bases for miku
I'd say that the next project diva game (if there even will be one) will include all new songs. They're definitely just testing the water with megamix to see if it's even worth making another one. That being said, they have no excuse for when they add returning songs to the next installment for when they could've been included in megamix.
I know we will probably never get gumi in project diva but I would like to believe that some day we might. I know she shows up on the one on the 3ds but she only has 2 songs. Also poor meiko she really gets screwed over in terms of songs everytime.

I love the project diva series games to death, but I'll be honest, I'm not that excited for this new game. I'll still be buying it though because it's project diva, but the diva games have so many entries in the series already and it's just annoying to see all these reused songs. The last game was future tone that had pretty much every song in the series, so why can't they just make a new game with new songs? Like F, F2nd, and X? I get this game is supposed to be like "a mix of greatest hits" thing, but future tone already kind of did that, with including every song from past games. And the fact that they're using the arcade play style, I can't help but to think that they're just going to reuse most of the charts from future tone.
I'm just glad I get to play a PD game. I've never in my life owned anything but Nintendo when it comes to gaming and I don't want to cough up 400 quid for a PS4 when I don't need/want one.
@Yanabay UTAU I understand, I was very excited to play my first diva game, but the ps4 has been out for so many years now, it's one of the most popular consoles and diva has pretty much been exclusive to playstation anyways. I just want that excitement of getting a new diva game and getting to play a bunch of new songs, and learning a bunch of new charts, which is why I had so much fun with the previous diva games. I had so much fun with X because it was almost entirely new songs and most were pretty recent songs considering when the game came out.
This is the kind of series you really shouldn't buy entry of. If the majority of the content looks the same to you, that means you can save a ton of money on not buying it. This is gonna be great for anyone who doesn't have a PS and those who haven't played the series before.
Have you seen how much bitching the fandom is already doing over the songs that are left out of this game? Can you imagine how bad it would've gotten if they had completely focused on new songs over the old stuff?

This is exactly why I don’t hate on this game. It’s not ideal (swap out DYE for Double Lariat; swap out some Miku to get Kokoro, Roshin Yukai, and Solitude’s End) but it’s still a huge deal for people in your position.
Poor Meiko has like nothing... why would they take out Kowase Kowase, that’s a brilliant song. :/ Tbh this game feels pretty worthless if you’ve already played Future Tone, which makes me sad.
To be fair, LoL came out in Mirai first before X. LoL is another song from the ported Mirai PVs. Only Hand in Hand is the first (and last) X PV to make it in FT.
@@Sakachi18 permissions and licensing. It's the same thing why Kagerou Daze, saturation, and Kagamine Flowery Fight aren't in Future Tone. If they can't contact the producer or they don't say yes, well unfortunately, they can't do anything with it.
bun The lack of UMG is unfortunate, but with every wowaka song in FT being back for M39 I’m sure the credits will have an “in memoriam” thing towards the end. If the new songs were picked even a year before he died it probably would be too late to include UMG, but adding text to credits takes virtually no time at all.

So far I'm impressed with the songs there are in the game. I hope after the game launches they add more songs as DLC aside from the 4 that they said. I don't know the ratio of songs they should release. Maybe 4 old songs that've been in previous games and maybe 4 new songs from recent Miku Expos and Magical Mirais.
Most of the FT packs were 2 Mirai songs and 2 entirely new songs. I'd love 1 Mirai (until all non-GUMI Mirai songs are in), 1 or 2 X, and 1 or 2 entirely new depending on the pack. The only exceptiomn to the 1 Mirai thing should be bundling Daughter & Servant of Evil together with a song from X and a new song. I'd prefer one big pack for FT songs left out of Mega 39s than them being in smaller packs- that way Mirai/X/New packs could be released simultaneously for FT. I know I'd be guilty of buying those sorts of packs for both games if they happened.

This will be my first Vocaloid game! I've recently discovered how amazing, and sweet the music can be. I can't wait to dive into these songs on the Switch. Being portable is a big plus for me :)

Heck even this time Rin got it rough, getting to sing in only 15 songs out fo the 101 there is. Luka sings on 16, which isn’t that bad considering Luka has been a bit shadowed in recent games but comparing to the 80 Miku has it’s just plain sad :c

Arroz con huevos Man really? I actually really love X with the story, medleys, and the special lives. It was very creative and unique imo. I only thought others disliked it since there isn’t too many songs, which I can agree with, but it was still a very good game.
My ranking on the 9 new song addition(not counting Catch the Wave) 1. Hibana 2. Ohedo Julia Night 3. Roki 4. Teo 5. Jitterbug 6. Jigsaw Puzzle 7. Dreaming Chu Chu 8. Alien Alien 9. 39 Music Also, I notice a trend, new songs that use 2D PV use the same 2D PV as the one on their music video, while songs with new PV like Hibana, Teo, Roki have a still frame on their video. Following this pattern, if Bring it on is added to the game, it will be using the 2D PV it has right now.
One major exception: 39 Music! - there's still some hope..! I pray that if Kimagure Mercy as DLC ends up as a 2D PV that they'd at least use the concert model of Miku wearing the PV's outfit to also give us the module to use. I really wish they'd give us the Mirai outfits beyond 2013 too.
Extremely happy with the new and returning song list and I will be be getting this for PS4 once release is given a huge amount of songs glad where once DLC and now added to the main list

I’m very happy because deco*27 is my favorite producer of all time. I see some people saying there is too much, but I’m happy. I absolutely love hibana and ghost rule. I love everyone of his songs that made it though.
Of the 10 new songs: Miku - 7 Rin - 1 Len - 2 Luka - 1 Meiko - 1 Kaito - 1 I counted duets as 1 for each character. So, for example, Kaito and Meiko don't have their own solos, both their songs are duets with Miku, so I gave one point to Miku and one point to Kaito/Meiko depending on the song Of the 10 new songs, only Miku, Len, and Luka have solos.

They probably counted nostalogic as two songs for meiko cause it has two versions but they are always cutting her short. Did they not learn from X that the least diverse causes people two feel least interested.

A truly equal ratio is unrealistic considering that Miku straight up has way more songs that actually exist. However, it could stand to have more of the others. I wish the theme song of a Diva game would actually be a song sung by all of them.

On one hand, we didn't get Bring it on or Unknown Mother Goose, the two songs that are highly requested.
On the other hand, we got Roki and the first Mafumafu song in the Project Diva franchise.
Roki is a really great song, and I'm glad that Mafumafu has some representation in this game, but I hope that we get more than 4 DLC songs so that we could get more highly requested songs in the future.
I think the DLC ideal is simultaneous releases for 39s and FT of entirely new songs (also missing: Kimagure Mercy, Doctor=Funk Beat), the remaining songs to be ported from Mirai (Daughter & Servant of Evil, Animal Fortune-telling- the less likely return of the GUMI duets), and songs from X (I NEED Brain Revolution Girl, Raspberry * Monster, and The Lost One's Weeping with the FT gameplay style).
For FT songs that got left out of 39s I'd prefer one big pack after launch of fan favorites like Roshin Yukai, Double Lariat, and Change Me. Having smaller packs of 4 aside from the theme song pack made for early adopters would feel kinda scummy ngl

Hiyoko Saionji Damn it I loved the selection in project diva x too. There were a lot of Miku songs in there but I really enjoyed Brain Revolution Girl, Love Trial, Tale of Deep Sea Lily, Humorous Dream of Mrs. Pumpkin, Holy Lance Explosion Boy and many more. I really wanted to see at least a few of them come back but oh well :’) stuck playing Project Diva X for those songs I guess

Ok everyone, so the reason that Unknown Mother Goose isn’t going to be in this game is that Wowaka passed away this year (rest in peace, we all love you) and the creators of the songs get to choose the PVs for the games. They have no idea what Wowaka wanted, but probably would’ve put it in if they did.
Crap, that became my favorite modern vocaloid song and if it isn't getting added... :( this is so sad man
at least Rolling Girl, Two-sided lovers and Unhappy Refrain are all back!

My point is, many games that focus on a character but want to give the spotlight to others do it in a way that they don’t overshadow the main one BUT their presence can still be felt. You can easily forget that MEIKO is in this game due to her pitiful 8 songs out of the 100+ (the worst part being, she isn’t even the original vocal in half I think): she could have easily been excluded in order to get some iconic songs that got cut back.

Honestly they've always done her dirty but removing all of her other songs like Kowase-Kowase and Change Me just makes me think what even was the point of having her or KAITO in this game :(

I am amazed by how good they make the vocaloids look in this anime 2d/3d style, I know that this decision was made due to the hardware of the switch in mind, but they actually nailed it, they look great, and all project diva games also look amazing since the psp, so I really hope this game is no exception to that.

Kokoro is about as slow as I can really enjoy. I like Sakura no Ame enough as a song, but Soundless Voice is the worst possible song to rep Hitoshizuku-P × Yama△ in a rhythm game. Amazing Dolce in X was way better.
I mean, as long as it's good I'm fine with Slow songs, plus, it can be practice when going for higher difficulty, I personally love Song of Life, super easy to play even in Extreme, but keep in mind some ppl are new, I just started with this series like 2 weeks ago, bought all the DLC for Future Tone.

1. Wowakas passing made it so that sega couldn’t add unknown mother goose because they don’t know what wowaka would have wanted for the pv since each pv is up to the producer. plus he hadn’t told them if they had the rights to use it in the game, thus it had to be out

Honestly, not gonna lie, I'm really disappointed with the Kaito selection. Virtually all of his songs are duets this time around, and his most iconic solo songs were omitted. As a huge Kaito fan, I'm sad about the selection, but I guess at least he got something rather than nothing :/

Part of me really wants ever new miku installment to have solely brand new tracks. Getting the same 100+ tracks per game is getting stale, especially when future tone exists to cover just about all bases for miku
I'd say that the next project diva game (if there even will be one) will include all new songs. They're definitely just testing the water with megamix to see if it's even worth making another one.
That being said, they have no excuse for when they add returning songs to the next installment for when they could've been included in megamix.
I know we will probably never get gumi in project diva but I would like to believe that some day we might. I know she shows up on the one on the 3ds but she only has 2 songs. Also poor meiko she really gets screwed over in terms of songs everytime.

I love the project diva series games to death, but I'll be honest, I'm not that excited for this new game. I'll still be buying it though because it's project diva, but the diva games have so many entries in the series already and it's just annoying to see all these reused songs. The last game was future tone that had pretty much every song in the series, so why can't they just make a new game with new songs? Like F, F2nd, and X? I get this game is supposed to be like "a mix of greatest hits" thing, but future tone already kind of did that, with including every song from past games. And the fact that they're using the arcade play style, I can't help but to think that they're just going to reuse most of the charts from future tone.
I'm just glad I get to play a PD game. I've never in my life owned anything but Nintendo when it comes to gaming and I don't want to cough up 400 quid for a PS4 when I don't need/want one.
@Yanabay UTAU I understand, I was very excited to play my first diva game, but the ps4 has been out for so many years now, it's one of the most popular consoles and diva has pretty much been exclusive to playstation anyways. I just want that excitement of getting a new diva game and getting to play a bunch of new songs, and learning a bunch of new charts, which is why I had so much fun with the previous diva games. I had so much fun with X because it was almost entirely new songs and most were pretty recent songs considering when the game came out.
This is the kind of series you really shouldn't buy entry of. If the majority of the content looks the same to you, that means you can save a ton of money on not buying it. This is gonna be great for anyone who doesn't have a PS and those who haven't played the series before.
Have you seen how much bitching the fandom is already doing over the songs that are left out of this game? Can you imagine how bad it would've gotten if they had completely focused on new songs over the old stuff?
If this game does well, then they'll probably make more games with new songs on the switch.

This is exactly why I don’t hate on this game. It’s not ideal (swap out DYE for Double Lariat; swap out some Miku to get Kokoro, Roshin Yukai, and Solitude’s End) but it’s still a huge deal for people in your position.

To be fair, LoL came out in Mirai first before X. LoL is another song from the ported Mirai PVs. Only Hand in Hand is the first (and last) X PV to make it in FT.

bun The lack of UMG is unfortunate, but with every wowaka song in FT being back for M39 I’m sure the credits will have an “in memoriam” thing towards the end. If the new songs were picked even a year before he died it probably would be too late to include UMG, but adding text to credits takes virtually no time at all.

To me, it's not that much about the songs, but how annoying that Miku gets to be on top of everything (I love her, and this is Crypton's/Sega's doing, duh. But come ON-) while other characters struggle to be just as popular, and others are kinda left behind the stage. (KAITO and MEIKO mostly.)

So far I'm impressed with the songs there are in the game. I hope after the game launches they add more songs as DLC aside from the 4 that they said. I don't know the ratio of songs they should release. Maybe 4 old songs that've been in previous games and maybe 4 new songs from recent Miku Expos and Magical Mirais.
Most of the FT packs were 2 Mirai songs and 2 entirely new songs. I'd love 1 Mirai (until all non-GUMI Mirai songs are in), 1 or 2 X, and 1 or 2 entirely new depending on the pack. The only exceptiomn to the 1 Mirai thing should be bundling Daughter & Servant of Evil together with a song from X and a new song. I'd prefer one big pack for FT songs left out of Mega 39s than them being in smaller packs- that way Mirai/X/New packs could be released simultaneously for FT. I know I'd be guilty of buying those sorts of packs for both games if they happened.

This will be my first Vocaloid game! I've recently discovered how amazing, and sweet the music can be. I can't wait to dive into these songs on the Switch. Being portable is a big plus for me :)

Arroz con huevos Man really? I actually really love X with the story, medleys, and the special lives. It was very creative and unique imo. I only thought others disliked it since there isn’t too many songs, which I can agree with, but it was still a very good game.

Also, I notice a trend, new songs that use 2D PV use the same 2D PV as the one on their music video, while songs with new PV like Hibana, Teo, Roki have a still frame on their video. Following this pattern, if Bring it on is added to the game, it will be using the 2D PV it has right now.
One major exception: 39 Music! - there's still some hope..! I pray that if Kimagure Mercy as DLC ends up as a 2D PV that they'd at least use the concert model of Miku wearing the PV's outfit to also give us the module to use. I really wish they'd give us the Mirai outfits beyond 2013 too.
Extremely happy with the new and returning song list and I will be be getting this for PS4 once release is given a huge amount of songs glad where once DLC and now added to the main list

I’m very happy because deco*27 is my favorite producer of all time. I see some people saying there is too much, but I’m happy. I absolutely love hibana and ghost rule. I love everyone of his songs that made it though.
