- The Boston Celtics select Jaylen Brown out of Cal with the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

I really like this pick actually. Saw him play a few times last year. He's really physical and athletic, really high upside. He's like Stanley Johnson in alot of ways, but probably a better athlete and slightly worse as a defender. Still, high potential, and could be a great piece if the Celtics choose to finally unload all the chips they've built up to bring a star to Boston.

I wasn’t mad with this pick i wanted to see him play his first year he got some action and more towards the end of the year ..and none really in the playoffs ..now in his second year he got his chance with Hayward being injured first game ..he was top 10 in the nba in player defensive rating ..and so far in the playoffs this year he’s been a stud ..Celtics hit back to back homeruns in Jaylen and Tatum and oh yeah I remember people hated the Rozier pick hows that turning out? Ainge is a really good drafter maybe some didn’t turn out but hey you can’t always hit the home run when it comes to picking talent in the nba ..I think he’s got my Celtics ready to make a solid 10 year plus run being a really good team ..so young and so talented Kyrie , Hayward,Tatum , Jaylen , Rozier that’s a solid Core to build around

Crazy to think I wanted Kris Dunn, but when we drafted Jaylen I was just kinda in shock he was still available
Eh I'm not too upset with the pick I think we should've taken the Noel and 2 1st rounders deal and trade some 1st rounders to move up but this kid has high potential. He is very versatile and if he can get a consistent jumper he could be huge. The good news is he doesn't have the pressure Simmons or Ingram will have to impress right away he can develop behind Jae Crowder and can learn with Stevens. He is a player we can take a risk on because we will probably have a top 3 pick next year too and possibly the year after that. Thanks Nets!!!
Also Celtic fans we need to be patient we won't be making the Finals this year or probably next year with LeBron and Kyrie balling out look at the Warriors they drafted Curry, Klay, Draymond I don't like them but it worked. I don't see why him not being a 3pt shooter is a problem , Celtics need a scorer and he gets buckets, there are people like derozan who drop 20+ without a 3pt jump shot so chill out kid will be a defensive stud and nightmare on the break plus we did draft bentil and that guy from France who are both stretch 4s so shooting will improve , selecting a guard at this point would just be a waste of potential since we have an established backcourt so this was the best pick for #3

Time will tell, Brown has potential and is very athletic. He is raw and is going to be a project. He will have his moments, but expect a lot of offensive fouls, bad shots and turnovers. Brown will need NBA minutes to develop, D-League won't cut it.
His head isn't always in the game and that spells bust. Kinda like Jeff Green, explosive talent when he wasn't sleeping.

We'll have to wait and see on this guy. But he fits in with the team because he can defend multiple positions. I thought they needed shooting which is why I would have gone Hield or Murray but I think Danny wants to develop his young shooters like Rozier, Hunter, Young. They have a lot of guards (Thomas, Bradley, Rozier, Hunter, Young, Smart) so it makes sense not to draft Dunn. They can afford to risk the pick knowing they have a top 3 pick next year with Brooklyn's pick.
