Comparison of a 2014 981 2.7 Boxster PDK with Borla exhaust to a 3.4 Cayman S 6MT with Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE). Video shows revs and slow to moderate passes.
I relish everything Porsche and the PSE is a fine system in and of itself, however, I personally feel the Borla hits the sound pallet with exquisite dimension! The PSA is a bit more 2D, yet, that is certainly going to be a more practical choice of many! I have Borla on my own 981, so I guess I MAY be a little Bias! : ) There really isn't a "better" choice, its simply....a matter of personal preference and that glorious adventure into KICK ASS exhaust symphony!
The Borla's deep throaty sound is amazing the PSE sounds too much like all the other Porsche exhaust systems. The deep rumble is hard to come by. I just ordered my Borla exhaust.
+Kyler Turpin Have you installed it yet? I'm trying to decide which exhaust for my 2013 base boxster. I wish I could hear one of these exhausts in person...and I can't stand drone.
Yep see other comments I am pretty sure i forgot to turn it on. If you are looking for something even better and still USA check out Soul Performance. I have a few videos of it here on my GT4 for headers and it's amazing.
@@divertiti In my opinion I would say probably yes. They have a lot of high end exhaust bits for lots of exotics. I would contact them or check out any videos you can find. I am sure they have both valved and non-valved exhausts for 981. Tell them i sent you. ;)
Sport mode I think...might have forgotten to turn it on...and due to keeping legal speeds wasn't able to push the throttle as much as the 2.7 past camera...
+goliath701 Personally, I think the 2.7 and 3.4 sound very similar anyway. I'm watching pretty much every 981 exhaust video on youtube trying to decide which to buy, and I think the two engines sound very similar.
@@MotoJB I sort of agree both motor wise and the fact I wasn't even sure if i had remembered sport button...but hey I have 30k views so I guess that is something.... this is several years old now anyhow. My current advice would be to leave stock exhaust and drop in Soul Performance or Cargraphics Sport Cats... best sound/volume change plus performance gains with a stage 2 tune...

Dawg you compared a 2.7 liter engine to a 3.4 liter engine and the borla exhaust was still better... gotta give it up to borla
And the boxsters are slightly detuned from factory by 10 Hp to the cayman.
Probably didn’t have the S in sport Plus.

That Borla exhaust sounds like a plane when passing by, pretty cool. I would go for the PSE though...

I like the PSE. No disrespect. The other exhaust sounds more muscle car like while the the PSE sounds more exotic or European.
Sounds great, what's the part number for the Borla? Also I think the PSE weren't at the same rpms and sounded like the sport mode was off

It is also 850 vs 3k bucks.
You are comparing different motors. Not different exhaust systems. The 2.7L sounds completely different from the 3.4L, This is VERY misleading

The pse startup here was done with the flaps closed.
Both sounds incredible but I would have to go with PSE.
Yeah it was loud but not the best. And had drone. On my Porsche after I did PSE which was good. The right answer is PSE and Sport Cats.
PSE way better. This is a NA engine and it suits better with PSE.
Where is d PDK sound and Sport Plus crack n pop sound from PSE? Seems bias..

Hands down the PSE sounds better, IMO.
