  • Expanding on our previous visit during our Easter Special, we look into all the wonderful gems this Cathedral has to offer - from the burial place of Edward II all the way to the East window and the Lady Chapel. A brilliant place on the edge of the Cotswolds!

Many thanks Robin, Glos Abbey is a truly wonderful church, I visited it some 10 years ago and must go again. I became interested in our stone built churches at the age of nine, and the fascination and appreciation has only become stronger these past 65 odd years. As you say two very lucky escapes! Indeed, we must always be on our guard, I knew a vicar some ten years ago who would gladly have seen our wonderful 13th century medieval cathedral raised to the ground (all 404 feet of it) and replaced by a "convenient" modern concrete slab, it simply beggars belief.

I love these cathedral videos. As a “student “ of ecclesiastical architectural, I find these cathedrals, even down to the small village churches to be endlessly inspirational and fascinating places. Thanks so much for returning to this lovely place! ❤️

Thank you for the tour I enjoyed it very much. I am a volunteer at Gloucester cathedral, where I clean some of the monuments including judge Powell. I also clean the intricate brass lectern in the quire. Regards Lexi

I recently learned that Bernard of Newmarch (1050-1125), the Norman Lord of Brecon, is buried here in what's called the Chapter House. I am a Newmarch descendant born in the U.S and hope to visit someday. If you go back for a longer look, I hope you'll show some more of this spectacular place!

I absolutely enjoy your wonderful videos to the core. It makes a spectacular watch . Moreover, it gives a feeling of actually having been there. However, I would like to humbly request you to be so kind as to upload more horror videos and audiobooks too since you have the perfect voice for all of the aforementioned thing.

Hi did you know John Stafford Smith was organist at the Three Choirs Festival held at Gloucester Cathedral 1790. Smith is best known for writing the music for "The Anacreontic Song for an English mens drinking club called the Anacreontic society in London. Later on this was adopted as the music to the Star-Spangled Banner. There is a USA flag hanging up above the organ in the cathedral.

Gloucester has many other remarkable buildings unfortunately it also suffers from architectural acne to its overall greater detriment

Yes a beautiful place iv been but its nice to learn things we didn't know from this video, but speaking of fire! The nasty men of the time burned a member of the cloth thst once attended this cathedral and worshiped here. They burned him outside of this place along with a young blind boy follower of his. The man was john hooper of glouster burned for his faith because he had differences with his own clergy of the day! Disscusting! May you RIP john hooper and little friend ❤! 5:58
