0:24 enforcing is separate from legality; making it illegal is one step of a larger process that eventually brings about change. Just because there's no clear way to enforce it at first, doesn't make it a bad idea.
Kinda like how marijuana isn't legal everywhere but most states aren't prosecuting it. Unless you get caught with pounds, you'll probably just get a fine. It doesn't really relate but I just don't see the federal government legalizing it. They love to use the smell of marijuana to justify a search and willingly giving that up just seems inconceivable to me. Hopefully the ftc grows a set of fangs and starts to push back on the corporate overreach. I am tired of getting screwed just because the ultra rich want more money and they can get away with it.
Being down on a law because it seems like there'd be some difficulty in enforcement is missing the point of the law through perfect solution fallacy. The goal is reduction. Eradication of bad behavior tends to be unrealistic as a goal.
On the topic of enforcement, there's an old Chinese saying that goes something along the lines of "Kill the chicken to warn the monkey". Meaning, enforce it very thoroughly in just a few cases and the effect of that will stretch far beyond just those cases. You won't deter everyone, but you'll absolutely deter a lot of companies.
