Because of this clip, my wife and I will buy TWO POUNDS of Cumberland sausages as gifts at the holidays. People have no idea why they got a scarf or whatever plus TWO POUNDS of Cumberland sausages while we do real bad Caine impressions telling them what they got. Lmao

They're all pretty darn good, with slight variations on the theme. I think Sellers was the original impression, and perhaps the most famous, coining the 'not many people know that', which Caine himself reprised in the film 'Educating Rita'. Perhaps the worst impression here was by Caine himself?!

Holy shit, Peter Sellers's impression is fucking dead on, but man, Paul Whitehouse's imitation is absolutely uncanny.
Sellers had the mannerisms down but the voice and accent were off.
Sellers’ impersonation was one of the worst I’ve heard - I do a better Caine than him!
@@frankmachin5438 Sellers’ impersonation was one of the world's first before it became trendy to impersonate Caine. And notice how Sellers was the first to introduce "not a lot of people know that".

I strongly advise watching that show with Rob Brydon & Steve Coogan, called The Trip, if you haven't seen it. Fantastic series.
I liked Phil Cornwell's impression best; strangely, Michael Caine's own impression sounds like Dudley Moore.
Michael Caine doing a spot on impression of his own voice would be just him talking, it only becomes an impression when doesn't. This is the confusing part.

I agree. A lot imitators get Michael's yelling right or his low, threatening voice. But Whitehouse nails his entire register and idiosyncratic inflections.

Rob Brydon Kicked Coogan's ass on this..... Whitehouse' was also pretty stellar ( he's the 'cumberland sausage' bit, yeah?) awesome....
Coogan's is TOO accurate, but funny. Rob Brydon's is a bit funnier. The point is that together in the Trip series, they are 500 times better than the sum of their parts.

Cornwall is indeed brillaint, but a bit cold and windy in winter. The locals can be a bit stand-offish if you don't speak fluent Cornish. You can get away with it if you go into a pub and say "A pint, a pasty, and a cheap cigar!" With absolute confidence.
