My 97 V6 just hit 100k, bought at 65k for $2000 5 years ago. It's in very rough shape cosmetically but mechanically it's perfect!

I leased a brand new 2001 Camry CE (last year of the '97-'01 models) & loved it, but turned it back in, with 30k miles,
because I didn't want the "last year" of a car! I've regretted it ever since, but did (buy) a brand new 2004 Camry LE,
to replace it! I still have it, 20 years later & it's going strong, but still 'long' for that '01! One of the best cars, ever!

ive owned 3 of this exact car. a 96, and 2x 99s. my current 99 was a V6 XLE, MINT interior. only 162km, and zero issues. 1 owner before me and i paid no joke $1200 back in 2019 before covid. now in 2023 you cant even find a busted up v6 xle Camry for under 3.5k-4kCAD.. As soon as covid hit everyone realized for some odd reason at the same time that they were very valuable and reliable cars. I tried to buy myself a second one not even 8 months ago and that is why I know they are so difficult to find in good condition now. There's nothing even wrong with my 1st one that I own at the moment I simply want a backup because I love this car so much and with the leather interior, power sunroof, power everything, and the fact you can fold down the rear seats and the trunk is absolutely ginormous once you remove the spare tire and Liners in the rear it becomes a amazing car even for a handyman such as myself. There is so much space in the rear trunk area, I am able to use it to transport all of my equipment.

So I should absolutely go for this one I’m looking at silver 140k for 1200 with no discerning issues?

I think I should buy a red Toyota Camry for me and my wife when we get married, it would be an XLE V6. I would also buy an Acura Legend for my family, when I am living on my own.

Got one a few months ago from a used lot. Only 95k. The only major problem I've had was new spark plugs and valve cover gasket replacement. And I need to fix the radio. But, I bought it as is. So I guess the problems came with it. But I love this car.

I'm obsessed with 99 Toyota Camry because it was my first car. I would have still be driving it if a dummy driver wouldn't have hit me and totaled it.

XLE V6 Camrys of any generation are hard to come by since usually a fully loaded Camry XLE V6 was only a couple thousand less then an base ES300/330/350, hence why many people would have spent the extra couple thousand for the Lexus ES, I have an 07 Camry V6 XLE and when I bought it, had only 38k miles on it, is fully loaded with navigation and everything, Zack Pradel of Shooting Cars reviewed my car when he did his California trip, but XLE Camrys V6 always are underrated and overlooked, XLE provided a “near luxury” car feel without the look of a luxury brand, also very nice camera work, you did a good job looking at a classic late 90’s fully loaded Camry

Crazy to see one of these with so few miles, my engine bay was never that clean, haha. I wonder how long it will be on the road if the buyer starts using it as a regular driver. I really love that red color with the gold badges. There's an elderly lady that lives at the retirement facility I work at that has a 3rd gen 4runner with those colors and it really pops. Would love to try and buy it.
I have a '99 LE V6 Manual with 262k or more on the odometer (only shows 5 digits for some reason and I've rolled it over, definitely didn't have only 72k when I bought it). Did a bit of maintenance when I got it and it's been my only car since I bought it almost 8 years ago now. Aside from some wear parts (brakes, tires, etc) the only issues I've ever had is it didn't start once because I needed a new alternator and another time for a new battery. It probably needs a tune up and a few gaskets replaced but the back side of the v6 engines are tough to get to. Not sure if I'll do any huge maintenance on it and definitely no huge repair if something pops up so I'm curious how long it will last but it's still going strong.

If a car has the name Camry attached to it, you'll always have the most well built reliable economy cars on the car. Don't worry.

Low miles for the year. It had to have sat long periods of time meaning gaskets and seals could go bad. 😆✌️

one downfall about that car is it has a sunroof and they leak over time i know i have one on a 98 chevy prizm 5 speed with 283,000 mile on it so far other wise those cars are really good at giveing you lots of miles.
