John Lennon is an absolute LEGEND, and the stories that go around about the blues that the Beatles had, are they all really true? It sounds like John and Paul were on good terms when this interview was recorded. Every band has tensions within them, you have a group of people with different personalities and different thoughts and remember the Beatles were together virtually in each others pockets for nearly 10 years.........
Near the end with the 'We'll Meet Again" fun singing followed by his smile always gets me; especially terrible that he would never get to the end of the song. The studio take where you can hear his remarks btw verses which got the musicians nearly laughing at one point revealed his sense of fun and enjoyment.
Not For the First Time, a journalist suggested John was the real talent of The Beatles, the rest were minor figures that Never Would Have Made it Without him.
Without Paul as a partner, John would have never written much. He needed to impress Paul to get his ass in gear and Paul wrote deep lyrics mostly to impress John!
In my humble opinion John is one of the best singers in the world and has a mind of a steel trap

No way, Paul was a minor figure.

He said that he was the other half of Paul which makes you think about what he meant
