The final game in the series, it was released for the Super Famicom only in Japan. Released late in the Super NESs life cycle, it was never released overseas until its Game Boy Advance incarnation. In this game, Donald's triplet nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie who do not wear their traditional colors play a prank on their uncle and hide in the attic in hope that he might calm down. They, however, are caught inside a magical book, which is controlled inside by King Pete. After knowing this, Mickey and Donald enter the book in order to find the duckling brothers and stop the evil Pete once more. According to the ending, Pete renounces his evil ways upon being defeated and becomes good.
The game is mostly similar to Disneys Magical Quest 2, but some new features are added. One of them is the possibility to play bonus games that are hidden in secret places.
The costumes for Mickey and Donald, this time, are different from each other.
The first costume for Mickey is a knight armor that has a shield and a punch glove that can hit in different directions, but it easily sinks when it falls in the water; Donald uses a wooden barrel as an armor and a Metal Bowl for a Helmet, which can roll, uses a hammer that only attacks in an arc fashion, and can float when touching the water. Both costumes had a bar that fills over time. The strength of the attack (glove or hammer) depends on how much the bar has filled.
The second costume involves using lumberjack climbing gear; both characters use a rope to catch enemies and throw them or latch in certain columns. The only difference is that Mickey lashes the rope in a straight lateral direction while Donald throws from up to bottom.
The third and final costume is more different; Mickey is a magician that attacks with magical birds that fly straight forward. Donald uses a magic lamp that summons a genies hand that can shoot magic or serve as a platform so that Mickey can step on it.
MORE COMMENT: The Best Game of the trilogy and the most fun ever in a game that never got released outside of Japan... this is a must play for anyone who loves Capcom platformers. -

This game really shines when Donald is being played
Joguei os três Magical quests na minha infância e todos eles são maravilhosos, mas tenho que admitir que o 3 é o melhor deles. Ele é perfeito em tudo, além de ter a melhor trilha sonora. Um verdadeiro clássico
This is probably the best game in the entire trilogy. I have finished the game before. Great gameplay, original story, and the sprite work is amazing! Like the Octopus fight seemed AWESOME. I mean, I couldn't see someone achieve such great animation aside from Yoshi's Island. It's also nice they included Donald. The soundtrack is OMG SO GOOD! The Ice Level's song is so cache!
Donald had the best costumes!
41:34 essa música me arrepiava na infância
The best game of the trilogy, challenging and fun at the same time.
Challenging? This and magical quest 2 are increddible easy. When you lose a life, you just keep going on the exact same spot, making the bosses very easy as you can damage them, lose a life and then countinue eith the rest of your lifes untill he die. The first game dident have that and its reaĺly a shame they included that here. The reason behind it is the 2 player mode and i understand that. But they should have changed that for the 1 player mode. Its just lazy.
Eu ja fui feliz, videogames fizeram minha infancia, meu deus quantas lembranças...
I can't believe this game was released only in japan. What a shame. Its as good as the first two games in the series if not better.
Not only that, it's got English. They could have just published it with minimum effort.
Fantastic game! Insanely unique ideas and frenetic making!
Whoever did the translation patch obviously mixed up the nephews' names and colors. If it was a mistake on Capcom's part, then the patch didn't even bother correcting it. Either way, someone dun' goofed.
the best one in the series.
Muito bom lembra a infância jogando super nintendo...
This is one of my favorite games of ALL TIME!!!
extrañaba esto, muybueno gracias al usuario por compartir esto. Recorde mi infancia.
Ah man this game was the bomb.
Prolly a patch, is my uess. I'm so mad it never came out here on the SNES, lol, the first two were some of my faves as a kid, especially playing coop.
Eu era feliz e n sabia aiai da vontade ate de chorar eu queria muito voltar no tempo :( saudades da minha infância
Sweet music.
Omg. I just found my gameboy and then remembered this game. That is probably the first time I have ever felt nostalgia.
I never knew they made more then one of these Magical Quest games.. wish I knew way back when lol..
Nostalgia.
Awesome playthrough of an awesome game. How about a Donald playthrough next?
When finally get to stage 7,always frightened by the background music, because of these traps and enemies
Thanks for the video
this is my favorite game..i downloaded this from online and I have both the Japanese and English version of all of these games and I have both GBA and SNES versions as well :) I love SNES games and I love Disney games especially! This is such a fun game to play.
ya i remember playing this game along time ago glad they have emulators so i can replay them all again
That's one fun childhood you had I wish I was like you back then
Released only in Japan?? This is weird,I had an SNES cartridge of this game when I was young (early 2000s) ,and I live in a region in Brazil really far from the biggest cities. I just cant remember if it was in japanese,I'll see if I can find the game laying around somewhere
Agora fiquei em dúvida também porque eu vi esse jogo em inglês também.
eu tbm tinha esse jogo e era japa, moro no interior do rio
It actually finally came to America, though on the GBA which means a smaller screen and worse audio, but its still a great game
Just found the cartrigde for this game, and i couldn't remember it, but now i do and it's an amazing game
Fungi Forest?
Now where have I heard that name before?
What scares me most about the rpgone translation is the fact that Mickey is even madder than in the GBA version while teaching Louie not to take things that doesn't belong to them tho
I Never Seen This Before.
Memories...
Tai o tempo bom que eu vivi, hoje não existem mais jogos.
Playing with Donald >>>>
My.. Favorite.. Game.....Found at last.. =)))
You guys do realize this got released overseas on the Game Boy Advance, right?
Got this in japanese. Dont know how this got to my house in Norway, but Im Greatly thankfull :D
@doctordoom90s também sou brasileiro e joguei esse jogo na infância, não faço a mínima ideia de como chegou no Brasil, também não lembro se estava em inglês ou japonês
yes its a magical game and live very much adventures is like a dream u.u...
so whose kids are huey duey and louie, they just seem to be everyones nephews
Capcom and Disney need t get their act together and rerelease all of the AMAZING games that they made together! There are SO MANY greate games on the NES and SNES from them back in the day. Why they haven't made these available to download on XbLA< WiiWare, PSN or Steam is beyond me.
Their license with Disney were expired Long ago before PS4 introduce
OMG!! my fave game!!!!!!! :'(
Yay there a The Magical Quest trilogy
Manda muito bem no Bonus game. :D
How is this game in English? It was never released on the Snes over here...?
Jesus Christ, Pete was the villain in every one of these. Couldn't they think of anyone better? It's Disney, they have a ton of bad guys.
Wow even the enemies are lame, lmfao. Ears of walking corn? Tadpoles? Birds throwing green peppers?
Liked the antlion boss though.
Someone should try making a GBA Script Port. Might also wanna make a Title Screen Edit, too.
Recorded from a real Snes or emulator?

Hey, have you ever wondered why you couldn't get all the hearts? Because 3 of them must be bought at the shop in for of the hear vials. The problem is that you need 4 vials to make one heart. And you can buy only 11 or 10 of them in the shop the remaining vials must be acquired in the...bonus game...in the game that relies completely on luck...eeeeeeeeeeehaah
Nah, first game had atmosphere, and even flashier mechanica and firm Disney/Capcom design principles can't truly lift this game above that true classic. 1 > 3 > 2
+novayarussia So what's your reasoning for placing the 2nd in last place? The only thing I didn't like about the first, which is the only one I've played and beaten is the dead eyed awkward looking mickey mouse sprite, plus it wasn't all that imaganitive either, while the soundtrack overall was kind of meh, especially in comparison to castle of illusions. :P
@@Donatello97 The third game looks best and Mickey has even real eyes now.
I feel that the second and third game all suffer from the same big ptoblem. They are increddible easy as you continue on the exact same spot after losing a life making boss battles a real joke as you can lose severeal lives and still beat the boss without having to start over. The first game dident have that. There is nothing rewarding in this game in that aspect.
Anyone know the immortal codes to this game?
Im playing this game right now ^_^ Using this so I can understand what the characters are saying, mines in another language
Yours is in Japanese, the only region this version was released in.
:') por fin lo encontre
You heard of fungi forest from rare
Hey Stage 2 shares a name with one of the Worlds from Donkey Kong 64
Damn, my nigga Mickey said FUCK a giant, armored turkey! Love this game!
How is this in english since the SNES version of Magical Quest 3 never left japan until the GBA port? As far as I know this vidoe is from the SNES (Super Famicom?) version. How come is it in english?
Fan patch for english
Are you playing the SNES version? Or did the Japanese one actually have English text?
Do you know where I may find a link for it?
***** I'd like to know where the link is myself. Do you have it?
i wish i could buy some capcom games in my wii u.
This one is the best with the first in second place. This game really reminds me of the first game.
The Second One was kinda lame, though.
Yeah, i thin tha same, this game reminds the first one
I assume it's an English patched rom.
Wasn’t this game for Japan only ?
It was, till the GBA got a version, and it was released outside of Japan at last.
For SNES, it's only on Japanese due released late in SNES era. GBA version receive an official English released
What I don't get is how is it that it's in English when this was a Japanese game?
This is a fan translated version. The original game is in Japanese.
There's a English version of Gba carnations
the boss minions that work for pete i like
a turkey
pig king
butterfly leader / they can be kind of annoying in real life
invasive flower

Hola
it's a funny,annoying game...we recomend it..
Los magical quest mickey me parecen aburridísimos los 3.
Thankfully not. This game looks halfway decent for one, and secondly, it's not littered with gosh-awful SquareEnix characters.
Lol Kingdom hearts beta
