  • @DirtJunkie
    @DirtJunkie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was very intrigued hearing your analysis. My mental process works the same way when I review my footage. The biggest struggle is the mental battle. You were right on the money with the hips - many of those attempts would have gone better if you pulled the bars right into your hips so the bike wouldn't bounce off or leave you behind at the top. I'm thinking with an obstacle this height and with that approach, you probably won't need to throw your hips back that much at the top; the bike will be so vertical at the top that you probably won't be able to get your weight back easily. Your form on 21 seemed perfect - bars in the hips, weight driving through the pegs at the top which provided all the weight and traction needed at the rear at that bike angle.
    This is turning into a wall of text, but I have to ask. Do you cover the rear brake the entire time? When I attempt walls or other large obstacles, I swing my foot out of the way of the rear brake because I feel like it gets in the way. But this makes the mental challenge harder because sometimes I feel like it's hard to get back over the rear brake when I need it and my foot ends up dancing for it. Anyway, awesome work dude, your video just motivated me to finish building that splatter and double blip wall in the back yard tomorrow because the trials techniques get rusty when you don't use them regularly.

    • @DirtJunkie
      @DirtJunkie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you're describing sounds like more of a zap depending on when you're talking about unloading. For this size wall and that run-up, the double blip is more suited where you drive the rear wheel in hard as he is doing, and drive your weight through the footpegs near the top to hold pressure for traction. I say pulling the bars to the hips because it's easier to get the point across - you dont actually have to pull, the bike will do that part as you throttle and your front rebounds - you just dont want to push yourself away from the bars, let them come right into the hips. Pushing away too soon will reduce traction, and put your weight too far back and cause the bike to rebound off the wall.

    • @DirtJunkie
      @DirtJunkie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @driving wheels I agree. If you dont get your head over the bars the bike will leave you behind.

  • @jmjneary
    @jmjneary 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice job dude. I ride trials more often. Try lowering your tire pressure a bit more. Move your kicker out farther about the same distance as the obstacle is tall. Keep up the good work

    • @BeRAD
      @BeRAD  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Moto Mania thanks! I usually have a funny tire on at low pressure... i was “street” riding and just left it lol. I wasn’t trying to splatter. If that was the case, I could probably do that first try no problem.

      UpBeatYamaha she was once brand new...next brand new one will be treated the same haha. Doesn’t really damage anything. Parts are replaceable. Just stop giving a fuck and you’ll get over it haha
