I have the same tractor. Thanks for the videos. What part number did you use for the tie rod boots, and who did you order them from?

Thanks for watching. I didn’t buy new boots. Mine seemed to be in good shape so I just reused them. There is an online parts manual for this model that I reference. I think this link will take you directly to the tie rod and boot pages. partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/navigation/equipment/57732/srch/TIE%20ROD%20BOOT

could you show how you got the other end off. When I did what you did the same thing happened. It jumped out of the vise. Just as yours did. Just was wondering how you broke it loose? The rest of the vido was great

I couldn’t do it by myself. Had to get another guy to help. If you don’t have someone who can help you, can take the cylinder to a mechanic to break it loose. Here’s a different video that shows the same thing but the guy has help. th-cam.com/video/rum8g7DUucw/w-d-xo.html

How did you get the second end unscrewed how did you hold the cylinder shaft. May as well not had a video if you don't show everything

I had to get another guy to hold it steady in the vise while I was on the wrench. He didn’t want to be filmed. Also had to keep on it with the heat.

I have an old 5310 that looks exactly like the one you have. I am unable to locate a technical manual. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello, and yes. I believe this below is where I downloaded mine. You should also be able to find some printed versions online you could order for around $30.

I couldn’t get it to stay in the vice working by myself. Had to get another guy to help.
