  • Ghazali’s Critique and His Accusation of Heresy
Welcome to Episode 2 of our compelling five-part series exploring the intellectual clash between Ibn Sina (Avicenna), Al-Farabi, and Imam Ghazali. In this episode, we dive into Ghazali’s powerful critique of the philosophers’ ideas and his shocking accusation of heresy.
Imam Ghazali, one of the greatest Islamic scholars, rejected Ibn Sina’s and Al-Farabi’s views on the eternity of the universe, their interpretation of God’s knowledge, and their understanding of resurrection and the afterlife. Through his landmark work, "Tahafut al-Falasifa" (The Incoherence of the Philosophers), Ghazali labeled some of their ideas as heretical, sparking a monumental debate between faith and reason.
    In This Episode, You’ll Learn:
Why Ghazali accused Ibn Sina and Al-Farabi of heresy (kufr).
The three major points of contention: eternity of the universe, God’s knowledge, and bodily resurrection.
How Ghazali’s critique reshaped the role of philosophy and theology in the Islamic world.

What do you make your videos with? Its great but the AI gemerated narration is flat and can be improved if a real person is used.
Also the text is too repetitive

I have a lack of expression because my ability to explain is weak. I have the text edited and checked. You are right, I need to use more original text.

Ghazali’s counter argument is basically: Ibn Sina is wrong because god and Mohammad said so. That is not an argument

What I want to say here is what Ghazali said according to the discourses of Ibn Sina and Farabi.Of course, whatever the Holy Qur'an says, that is Amenna.

Imam Ghazali criticized Ibn Sina's philopsophical views on the eternity of the universe basing on predominantly religious discourse. As a muslim I would say we should't stick to only religous concepts, that's what the main reason for falling behind western countries in sphere of science. We should also shape our scientific knowledges so we can reinvigorate islamic golden age.

@@SardorBekmuxamedov I disagree with you on some issues. For one thing, the Quran told us centuries ago that the universe is expanding. Modern science has only recently found this out. We just need to shake off the dead soil. We are so used to being lazy.

@@Horizonsofthemind3437 At some extent I take your point, but that is not the matter I want to explain. I know the facts that holly Coran holds will be gradually exposed through the centuries ahead. But We should be one who will reveal these facts scientifically instead of westerns scholars.

@@SardorBekmuxamedov I totally agree. We always want to be prepared. We need to add something of our own. I believe that if we give more importance to education, these inventions can easily be made by us.

God may have preferred the Supremacy of His Laws to that of His Arbitration. Unlike humans, God initiates processes to continue without ending.

Indeed, Allah knows what is right for us better than we do.
