I'm so not the wiring guy, so when you win on a wiring problem, I'm loving it. Looking forward to the oil change video. Some cars are so miserable, I would not own one. Some are super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Problem is I can't remember where...
My old '04 GTP had the ignition cylinder on the dash- never thought about how it locked the column. Probably something cheap like a rod/linkage 😁. If they were prone to the same problem, it happened to the poor fool that owned it after me.

I don't know why you would do this to yourself. You do understand that, from now on, anytime you try to fix something and it doesn't work, a dozen people are going to ask if you did the brown wire mod?

Considering the electrical gremlins in c5 and c6 i wonder if grounding your dash cam to the module bolt caused your problem, just saying

So with the LMC5 module now the steering wheel doesn't lock. So the car doesn't have that safety feature anymore. But I guess that's better than it locking up on you when you least expect it.
But I would have just hooked up the brown wire on the LMC5 that was already installed and see if that fixed the issue, so you could return the new one. Or, why not let a dealership do the recall for it?

Tried the fix dealer popped steering wheel dash etc etc . Now after that 150 miles later shes pull key wait 10 buck jumping carring on. Waiting to take back too dealer after lcm5 and 1000 grand later for fix. Z06 2002 I bought new. Anybody with that problem? I'm worn out now but car has few miles on it. Its flat out embarrassing for that to go down ppl not know wait..ain't me. C5 problem

Electrical and electronic issues are the absolute worst! And I still can't help myself fixing them whenever they appear, which they do at least once a month...
It's not so much the fix per se, it's the diagnosis process that drives you crazy. Fixes are usually pretty easy once you know what the problem is.
Is there a name for this kind of syndrome we obviously suffer from?
