It’s so refreshing to hear about scents you don’t like or hate. It’s just fun, whether I’m in agreement or not. I have smelled so many baccarat 540 dupes that I’ve lost all interest in it other than the fact that it smells so much like the colognes a lot of my middle eastern male friends used to wear. I own a 10 ml of kayali white flowers and I’m with you, so disappointed that it smells like a weird mix of JPG La Belle and Halloween candies

I really persevered with the Kayali one two. I just didn't like it, never remotely liked it, so it had to go. I really like Rive Gauche. There's something so comforting about some of the vintage fragrances, and just not being remotely apologetic for wearing what we love.
Hello Gabi, this was a very enjoyable and entertaining view. Chanel number 5 was my very first fragrance memory. My mom had a bottle, which was her only perfume and it sat on her chest of drawers. I snuck into her room (I was a small child) as I knew I probably shouldn't touch it. I pulled off the cap and put the atomizer to my nose recoiling in horror. I thought why would anyone want to smell like that? I did not and was not tempted to spray the bottle. I put it back as I found it. I think this may have happened more than once, as I thought perhaps something would change. My mother didn't wear perfume often, only for special occasions. I don't associate the fragrance with her. Later when she must have finished her bottle of fragrance, she replaced it with Oscar de la Renta Oscar for Women. I found that fragrance much more palatable to my nose. Unfortunately the first experience left me circumventing the Chanel counter for years. I may have been adverse to aldehydes. I should really go back and smell all the popular Chanel fragrances that everyone seems to love. - Jenn
I've never been able to abide Chanel #5, either, and I absolutely recognize that millions of men and women around the world adore it. For me, it's the green aldehydic overdose that I don't enjoy. As humans, we each have our preferences, and that's okay...it's what makes us individuals. This year--and I turned 67 last month--I decided to open my mind to other Chanel fragrances, and found that they don't all have that "green aldehydic overdose". In fact, many don't have a detectable aldehyde note at all! Thus far, I really like the original Coco EDT, Coco Noir, and Coco Mademoiselle. I also got a sample of Eau Premiere, and I think I might advance to a full bottle. I think my next trial will be Allure and Allure Sensuelle. I have sampled the assorted Chance lines...but in my mind, they're "nothing to write home about". There are several Dior and YSL fragrances I enjoy more. And...as a historiographer, I felt I needed to acknowledge the impact of Chanel #5 on the perfume industry in my display, so I bought an empty bottle to add to my display. :)
Loved this! So true that our furry friends are family!! I don’t have a cat , I have a Shihtzu, but I love cats as well. Her fur absorbs whatever fragrance I put on. She has her own bottle of perfume, it’s Juicy Couture, I bought it for her in a pet boutique. If I had to choose a fragrance for her it would be Mon Guerlain, cozy warm and sweet! 🐶🐱🦴🫶

this is interesting...thinking back to some I do not like: Bluegrass, White Shoulders, Cinnebar (sp?), Wind Song, Jessica McClintock. I love or have loved YSL Paris and Parisienne. Annick Goutal Mandragore, Kate Spade Walk on Air, Stella McCartney Pop Bluebell, Hypnotic Poison, Dune, Jardin de Bagatelle.
I am so in agreement with you. I have tried so hard to like Chanel no 5 but I can't stand the powdery aldehydes in that fragrance and yet I absolutely love YSL Rive Gauche. My fave Chanel would have to be Coco or no 19 which I know is not a popular opinion. People always think I mean Coco Mademoiselle, which is nice but there is something magic about Coco :) I have recently fallen in love with Elie Saab perfumes especially le parfum and royal.

It is fun to watch your video’s 🥰 (have you tried the original no5 pure perfume? It is better than the aldehydes on steroids 80’s eau de parfum imo, a bit softer and more balanced)

Such an interesting video! Since corvid my sense of smell has been so stomped on...I can't smell most of my old loves.😭 But I can smell other things, and I'm concentrating on finding out what. I am loving this pure red musk oil I found, I hated it at first, I put so much on, thinking It was like the clean soapy musks that are everywhere, and that I probably wouldn't be able to smell it. Well!! I smelled like a ferret breeder for about 3 days, even through a shower...but after that, it grew on me. Used much more cautiously, it's really interesting! It is strong, and very much a fox in heat type of musk, but with a dark cacao dusky bitter chocolate note, and whisper of spice. I've used it every day since, and the tiny bottle is now nearly empty. The novelty of being able to smell anything at all after 3 years is still stunning. I'm hoping I will be able to smell a strong perfume or oil like YouthDew or Clinique Aromatic Elixir... aldehydes seem to have gone missing for me, clean musks as well as light florals...I can't smell or taste mint anymore. Cinnamon tastes like dust, but Saigon cinnamon does make it through, it's about 5% cinnamon oil, so quite strong to most people. The whole experience of perfume is changed forever for me I guess, but there's hope!💕
Have you tried First by Van Cleef & Arpels ? Very jasmine, alledgedly old school and mischievous, in my opinion,with its blackcurrant bud note. I love it.
omg we are so similar with fragrances! i love how honest you are its amazing. i hate the smell of Baccarat smells like nitrice oxide. and kayali vanilla 28. i also hate Chanel 5 i dont like the aldaheids and aged scent. my grandmother wore it. i tend to like gourmand perfumes.
I love a unicorn fragrance ♥️. I don't mind if my scent is not mass appealing, I actually prefer it not to be. I like to be a bit unique, I don't care for generic perfumes that don't speak to me.
Great video, I enjoy very much your sincerity. Lately I have been diving into old school fragances. I am bored of most of the new releases, everything smell like bubblegum and too sweet, and the tuberose everywhere.... I just can't. I am not a sweet kind of women. I am serious and I like dark ambients and music. I don't want to be sweet and girly. I don't want to be kind and polite... So that why perfumes like Poison, or some unisex actual scents fit with me better.

I haven't tried br540 ever, but the extrait I've tried and so so many dupes or impressions, I feel I know how it smells! I have La femme from Prada but I actually don't think that is as nice as the one you have. I didn't try de ja vu, I think I've tried most of the others... Yes 😂 I agree Gabi, the marketing is everything with a lot of Kayali exhibit A, eden juicy apple 😂 I like Halfeti but it's nowhere near spicy for sure. I get your disappointment. I also like tobacoo and Tonka, I wasn't keen on the cherry and amber... Rive gauche yes! That's my mum in a bottle! Apparently that was one of the first fragrances marketed to women as something for them to buy rather than as something to be bought by their husband. I love that!
I can't smell BR540 on me but my husband seems to like it and used up my sample of it and the extrait. Our mate 'Jonathan' has sent me some mini decants of Kayali. I am grateful as I have never gone in store to smell them, but I have to admit I don't see the hype. I'm not getting any harmony in them somehow 🤷♀️
At first I was really impressed by Un Bois Vanille, but later whenever I tried this sample it was so cloying, harsh, headache and nausea inducing. I cannot use it...

I find all the kayali Fragrances smell exactly as what you described the one here, typical mainstream mess, overhyped and way overpriced for what you get, they last all of 30min if that.

Kayali, I support your opinion 100%..not just the De Ja Vu but all of them...even the Burning Cherry ...if I want to purchase Middle Eastern fragrance I visit certain sophisticated Middle Eastern Perfumers/ Houses that have been successful with glorious fragrances in the Gulf Market since 1900...serving the Royals, Nobles and the Velvet Societies. Now, Prada Le Femme, Oh I blind bought it (based on @Maria Collett and @Veronica Says recommendations), this is Tuberose A La Prada...multi facetted...I shall without hesitation try the absolu. BR540 I prefer the Extrait coz this has escaped the EDP's peekaboo business, the smell of guaze bandage, dentist office, gasoline....etc. Penhaligons..all what you said is approved. Banana Republic...mmmmm...you gave me some work to do. YSL Rive Gauche..gimme more, icy white chypre...eccentric yet addictive combination.

I don't like blue grass either! There are some scents that I just can't love although Dune and hypnotic poison are the best!

I haven't tried br540 ever, but the extrait I've tried and so so many dupes or impressions, I feel I know how it smells! I have La femme from Prada but I actually don't think that is as nice as the one you have. I didn't try de ja vu, I think I've tried most of the others... Yes 😂 I agree Gabi, the marketing is everything with a lot of Kayali exhibit A, eden juicy apple 😂
I like Halfeti but it's nowhere near spicy for sure. I get your disappointment. I also like tobacoo and Tonka, I wasn't keen on the cherry and amber... Rive gauche yes! That's my mum in a bottle! Apparently that was one of the first fragrances marketed to women as something for them to buy rather than as something to be bought by their husband. I love that!

I can't smell BR540 on me but my husband seems to like it and used up my sample of it and the extrait.
Our mate 'Jonathan' has sent me some mini decants of Kayali. I am grateful as I have never gone in store to smell them, but I have to admit I don't see the hype. I'm not getting any harmony in them somehow 🤷♀️

At first I was really impressed by Un Bois Vanille, but later whenever I tried this sample it was so cloying, harsh, headache and nausea inducing. I cannot use it...

I find all the kayali Fragrances smell exactly as what you described the one here, typical mainstream mess, overhyped and way overpriced for what you get, they last all of 30min if that.

Kayali, I support your opinion 100%..not just the De Ja Vu but all of them...even the Burning Cherry ...if I want to purchase Middle Eastern fragrance I visit certain sophisticated Middle Eastern Perfumers/ Houses that have been successful with glorious fragrances in the Gulf Market since 1900...serving the Royals, Nobles and the Velvet Societies.
Now, Prada Le Femme, Oh I blind bought it (based on @Maria Collett and @Veronica Says recommendations), this is Tuberose A La Prada...multi facetted...I shall without hesitation try the absolu.
BR540 I prefer the Extrait coz this has escaped the EDP's peekaboo business, the smell of guaze bandage, dentist office, gasoline....etc.
