I agree with you about feeling a bit disconnected from the story. I am enjoying the patch, but feel like the older expansions and living world chapters were better. I as the player felt more connected to those characters. With this, I feel like I am helping out some strangers to combat the bordom of being a retired commander.
I like the Nayos stuff, but I agree that it feels a little isolating. I think we needed more of the wizards and Zojja to come with us into Nayos to keep their story going with us. It feels like the wrong move to cut us off from them so soon and for so long.
I was disapointed with Eparch but now after watching this video i noticed things i didnt notice before while playing....like his creepy spindly legs and i paid more attention to his voice and acting this time an ya....its pretty cool, hope we get a good pay off in May~
I don't think Eparch is eating for the sake of eating. Coming across him this patch and I think he may not be as evil as it may seem. I didn't expect him to actually love someone, having a partner he depends on... And his personality seem very, well... obscure - he might not be what Peitha paints him to be, because I feel he is preparing for something else we don't yet know. I start to question if Peitha is in the wrong here, and Eparch "consumes" to protect the Demons, and she isn't willing to submit for the greater good... We never really talked with Eparch, and everyone just bad-mouths him, and we believe this anti-Eparch propaganda... Whether he is doing what he is doing for a reason, or he is a bloodthirsty tyrant... Though Peitha does also do questionable things, like backstabing her own brother, and she may as well pretend to care about others. Eparch, Isgarren, Peitha - all seem very enigmatic and I don't think the finale will turn out to be as black and white as Peitha is trying to color our Wayfinder's point of view - afterall Isgarren still is very suspicious of her, and doesn't know what Eparch's plan is... Very interesting finale is coming for sure!

i feel the same tbh. i’m loving the story but it doesn’t feel personal. i think if they used Zojja more it would’ve felt better.
I love the little quaggan/choya kyrptis NPC's lol.
They're so cute XD
Eparch just needs Charlie Morningstar to give him therapy.
