You guys knocked this one out of the park! It has been such a joy watching your videos of this ski progress from when you first acquired it to when the legend himself, Charlie Rossier, hopped on and gave it hell! It is incredible hearing the stories he told - You could just hear the passion he has for the sport in how he was talking. Including his stories in this video was such a cool touch that really helped bring everything alive. Hats off to you guys, you’ve done a legendary resto and an incredible video series with Charlie finishing it off 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
The amount of knowledge in this video goes to show how this is a dying art. Thanks for sharing this with everyone. Keep up the great content and love for the sport. Now to share some top speed numbers ;)
We have weekly conversations like this lol. I grab a notebook when I see him calling and he just takes me to school. Thank you for the positive comment I really appreciate it. Speed numbers coming soon we are going to do a ride video.
Oh it’s definitely a dying art. I did amateur MX From 93-00. Charlie built my engines in my YZ’s. HOLE SHOT MACHINES! I’m 6’5” prob 220 pounds then. 125, 250cc! Power houses all trough out the band. Won races. The man is the best! Always taught and said stories, love that about Charlie.
This is an amazing video. I loved the story about nabbing a piston out of a Honda, hand sanding it, and winning the race!!!! Totally fantastic video great to see the two strokes ripping it up!!!!
OMG this video is so awesome. What you guys did here is legendary! You guys are awesome! Seadoo x4 is still the best 2 stroke ski ever made and that thing was done so period correct. It takes passion to do that. Great job guys….
What a great video! I remember when I ran IJSBA back in the late 90s and Charlie was a legend back then. Glad to see you guys are keeping these old skis alive. Makes me want to get back into it. I can totally appreciate the helmet comment. I went over the bars on my my X4 a few times. I think you guys are local to me. Maybe I’ll see you guys at the river one of these days. Keep up the great videos.
I sold Nick 3 96 xp's about 5 years ago. 1 of them was a pretty bad-ass boat....at least imo. Had the neptune pipe, red top carbs, umi steering, beach house sponsons, manual trim, nozzle, prop,.etc. I always regret selling them....after watching these videos. Haha
I wish I could get some more explanation on what he was talking about regarding port timing and how the shape of the port was able to achieve a 6-8 hp gain on the dynamic. You can tell the guy still has a passion for the sport even after all these years.
Its all in that skis engine. Everything he was talking about was regarding that exact engine. Nothing is chanced its all original to when it left charlies hands
I had 2 95 xp800 one with Novi 44mm and factory Spec II w/ECW Tony Dukas waterbox and the skat trak pump. The other was stock carb 720 water box rossier pipe taucetti flame arrestors solas X1 prop
Rossier engineering used to be next to our shop in plover Wisconsin. I remember well the blue ford explorer of Charlie’s towing jet skis down to the river for testing. My dad bought a trx250r from Charlie I think….could have been joe benner….
I've got one of his pipe's in my 96 XP. George Grabowski of HPT ported the cylinders and milled the head on mine. Mine's pump gas safe and on the original bore and is faster than any other pump gas safe X4 I have ever seen. The Rossier pipe is what lets is live on 93 Octane.
@@DynoSauR4Truth Nice I have one that takes 93 as well that does 65 on a Garmin gps. Best part is that the engine is completely stock no porting what so ever and everything on the ski is stock minus proper crab jetting and FA's. Stock impeller, nose, intake grate, tabs, etc. Just really aggressive water jetting, carb jetting, and proper squish to blow 180 psi.
@@TodayWeWrench That is impressive. I've got 46 Buckshot carbs and their V-tech intake as well. It's really doesn't have a linear power delivery with those carbs. They are pretty much like a switch with full on or floundering. It could be a jetting issue I guess. I have one of those variable valves that controls the water to the stinger on mine. It's old and I probably need to verify that it's working correctly. I only took the ski out once last year and it just sits in my basement. I'd like to trade it for a spring seat XP. Preferably an 01 model so that it would match my new 21 GTX Limited 300.
Not to be the guy that takes advantage of this video to ask a question but this has been giving me trouble for about four months now…. I have a 1994 Sea-Doo XP that I bought from a guy for $1500 and he said it’s fast and runs great ready for the water. It does run great fires right up but when I put it in the water it will bog down and have no power from about half throttle to full throttle. It revs up just fine when it’s out of the water but when it’s under a load it can’t go past half throttle without bogging down. I would appreciate any tips on what could be the problem??… I think it may have sat dormant over the winter
Actually after testing we realized that that tank didn't release pressure and it was causing positive pressure to develop. The pressure was so great that the rotary seals were leaking. I removed the tank and ran a loop to fix the problem.
That station is down the street from me and on the way to the river. I could go by the speedway but the cost savings of 10 bucks wouldn't be worth it. That mixed with the 2 stroke oil makes it pricy to run for sure.
@@TodayWeWrench hell yeah it is. I run caster 927 and 110. It's over 100 bucks for 10 gallons of fuel and a qt of oil for my blaster. I can fill my boat up on 91 for that price and it's got a 40gal tank lol.
