There are going to be a good amount of characters who unfortunately will not become playable characters in Smash.
But it's still interesting to think about what kind of move sets these characters can have if they were playable, so that's why I'm here today.

To get this out of the way now. Rex will not be shown as "Got in" on the What If Character roster, because he didn't get in, Pyra & Mythra did.
And I'm not doing any semantic "Kinda got in" or the like.
All that matters is whether you're a full fledged playable character, or if you're not one.
Rex got the same treatment as the Slime, so to me, that's not the same getting in.

Also this could be done in her trailer by having Wario use her assist trophy only for her to not be there. He gets halfway through saying he'll call her back when she launches him from behind. The rest of the trailer is a discussion between her and Red as the latter freaks out over her breaking the rules, to which she just goes "you think i'll settle for being an assist like Kat and Ana?"

What if King Bob-omb got in Smash?
That is actually a Great idea for a character moveset
That could make for a very interesting video, but in all honesty, he as been shown to be a very large character, even at his smallest, and unlike Ridley, he can’t just crouch to fit with everyone else. His depicted attacks also just mainly consist of grabbing and throwing, chucking bob-bombs, and blowing up himself, leaving a lot of his potential moveset up to innovation. I see him better fit as an assist trophy, with him blowing himself up, dealing massive damage in a large radius. I’m not trying to put down your idea, I’m just sharing my thoughts.

@@SillyVaporeon Even so, my point with their moveset still stands. Their options for attacks are limited to summoning bob-bombs, throwing people, and blowing himself up. Now, if he was an assist trophy, that opens up a lot of possibilities. He could send the fight into a Sudden Death-esc state, causing tons of bob-bombs to rain down from the sky, picking up and throwing opponents, ending it off by blowing himself, dealing large damage to those caught in it. And if King Bob-bomb is delt enough damage, they can be “defused” and disappear without exploding. Being an assist trophy just makes more sense for King Bob-bomb.

This moveset is amazing! Ashley was always my favorite WarioWare character, and this moveset suits her perfectly! I feel like just one of her taunts should show her gentle smile, like the victory screens do, but the taunts are based on aesthetics anyways, so your choices are just as valid. I love that for every moveset you do some major research! I wasn’t expecting callbacks to Touched, DIY, Smooth Moves, AND her modern appearances

Pit: hey it’s Ashley.
Palutena: the girl next door living in a haunted mansion.
Viridi: well I’m surprised she’s here. I mean we both have our uses for our staff.
Palutena: her staff is more so a companion named red who can shapeshift.
Pit: oh yeah, I saw her turn it into a broom, a sword, and a sort of umbrella.
Palutena: don’t let that distract you from the fact she’s still as powerful with her many spells and magic ingredients.
Viridi: like grandmas wig, which makes you big, it’s kinda like a mushroom.
Palutena: she also has her pumpkin beam which can easily deal a lot of damage.
Viridi: my personal favorite attack of hers is when she uses her witches pot and uses her powers to summon a giant monster plant. *sigh* having her in my army would be amazing.
Pit: okay, but I think she’ll prefer the dark and gloomy and not the cheerful and colorful.
Palutena: eitherway, when Ashley uses her pumpkin beam, use your mirror shield to reflect it.
Pit: got it, then maybe afterwards we could become friends.

Ashley's Classic Mode route: SmashWare (All fights represent other members of the WarioWare cast. To emulate the quick pace of WarioWare microgames, the launch rate is increased and each battle (except for the boss) has a time limit of 1 minute at most)
Round 1: Wario, on the WarioWare stage. (Always start with Wario)
Round 2: Red Daisy, on Onett. (Mona. The stage is to evoke how Mona is commonly driving during her stages.)
Round 3: Two Tiny Shieks on Suzaku Castle. (Kat and Ana)
Round 4: Dr. Mario and Blue ROB on Wily Castle. (Dr. Crygor and Mike)
Round 5: Villager and Green Donkey Kong on Gamer. (9-Volt and 18-Volt)
Round 6: Incineroar, Isabelle and Mewtwo on Fourside. (Dribble, Spitz, and Orbulon. That's right, I'm having the large dog being represented by a large cat, and the small cat being represented by a small dog.)

I love how Ashley's doodle here just has a blank expression at all times
Personally, for Ashley's A moves and grabs, I might've gone with less focus on Ashley's microgames (and her theme song), since they might not have necessarily represented her as a character outside of the WarioWare microgames, and more focus on what she could've probably done as a witch within the WarioWare universe, though some representation on WarioWare's think-fast mechanics could've still been kept (like with her B moves). Moreover, I have an idea to have Red be physically present as a KOable entity that could assist Ashley through strategic positioning (similar to Luma for Rosalina), so some of Ashley's attacks that would've involved Red transforming into something else would've needed to have been cut for this reason.
By the way, is it just me, or does anyone else besides me keep thinking about Beam Kirby when thinking of alternative normal attacks for Ashley to use (such as Beam Whip for Ashley's side A, Revolution Beam for neutral A air, Cycle Beam for dash A, Beam Blast for forward A air, Wave Beam for side A smash, and Capture Beam for up throw, along with perhaps an upwards-angled Beam Blast for up A smash)?
Besides referencing Beam Kirby, I could see some of Ashley's attacks tripping up opponents, such as down A, which could've literally caused opponents in front of Ashley to slip and fall (as if stepping on a Banana Peel) by, say, summoning a temporary puddle of a slippery substance, like oil, grease, syrup, or soapy water to name a few.
An alternate down B move that I could've suggested for Ashley could've involved alternating between leaving Red behind to guard a fixed position (sacrificing some of Ashley's power, along with her up B move, as a result, and performing some of Ashley's moves in tandem) and recalling him back to Ashley as a magic sceptre that would buff her magic attacks (damaging opponents in the way). The older down B move suggested in the video seems like Palutena's Heavenly Light move from Smash 4 all over again, which probably wouldn't be a move that even a small fraction of players would've wanted to use.
Ashley's Final Smash could've just been her screen clear attack, though it could've also simply turned every enemy close to her into food items (like with neutral B), with an effect about as devastating as Peach's (or Daisy's) Final Smash.

Requesting Makoto Naegi from the Danganronpa series till BJ finally delivers: Week 21
Here’s my moveset:
Ultimate Student Moveset
*Standard Attacks: Based off punches and kicks that characters use from the Danganronpa series. (There are many) There’s also just 3 murder weapons because I didn’t want it to be too inflated.
•Smash Attacks: Knife
Some stab attacks based off the way some characters used them in Danganronpa, definitely stands out from Joker’s as his plays as more of a dagger with swipes instead of stabs.
•Down Air: Shot-Put Ball
Similar to Mega Man’s Down Air, but weaker, longer range, and rolls a little if it hits the ground. It rolls 1.75x more on slopes.
•Grab: Rope
Latches onto the opponent. The throws are all based off ways characters get murdered in Danganronpa such as strangulation.
* Forward Throw: Shoves the opponent face forward to the ground holding them there for a second. Once let go, they’ll fly forward.
* Back Throw: Strangles the opponent with the rope from side to side before releasing them from behind.
* Up Throw: Quickly throws the end of the rope upward causing the opponent to be hung for a moment.
* Down Throw: Jumps up with the rope flipping the opponent upside down and whips it downward causing them to hit their head on the ground.
•Up Tilt: Chiaki’s Slaying Dragon Fist
•Side Tilt: Tenko’s Aikido Chop + Flip (2-hit)
•Down Tilt: Junko’s Stomp
•Up Air: Nekomaru’s Super Body Blow
•Neutral Air: Sakura’s Swing
•Side Air: Akane’s Slicing Kick (3-hit)
•Back Air: K1-B0’s Back Kick
•Dash Attack: Kaito’s Slap
•Jab: Monokuma’s Sadistic Ora Ora Ora!

Swirls upward on a surfboard. During use, you can do a flip if you move your joystick. (Rotates direction specifically by 45°.)
*Neutral Special: Endless Truth Bullet
Highlight an opponent’s move by holding for ~2 seconds, getting hit while charging cancels it out. (If there’s multiple opponents, you’ll select one by choosing their icons sideways with no charging.) If they use it again, you can use that Truth Bullet to cancel it out and release a somewhat powerful attack. (It misses when more than 2 seconds pass.) When landed, it resembles the animation from the games, the mouse hand, the glitchy TV background that slows the battle down for a second, and the cut-in of the Student’s face where they say “No that’s wrong!” You can use this move anywhere on the stage with no aiming, all that matters is time. If you’re opponent plans to use the move, they have to be sneaky. This move is really helpful against spammers and campers.
This does not including: Final Smashes and Up Specials.
This does include: Fully charged moves (if they reuse a move, how much it’s charged doesn’t matter.)
For certain gimmicks: It depend on the one. Ex; Hero’s Down Special will highlight all 4 Spells on the page, Shulk’s Neutral Special cannot be highlighted, etc.
*Side Special: Rebuttal Crossblade
Releases 3 swords as projectiles. They will spin then quickly cross the opponent from above with some slight homing attacks. The first 2 slices will resemble the regular slices from the trial mini game, while the 3rd slice is the strongest and will look and feel like the Truth Blade strike when you attack the weak point. These will also be good to break projectiles.
*Down Special: Hangman’s Gambit
4 bubbled letters surround you in a square. Each time there will be a randomized 3-letter word (with 1 letter to throw you off.) Crush them by touching or attacking them, if you get a letter wrong or run out of time the whole move cancels out and you’ll damage yourself. The opponent can also cancel it out by attacking you with melee attacks or touching the letters although that’ll damage themself. They should be careful when trying to attack you with projectiles because if it hits the letter it’ll just get bigger leading to a stronger attack. When you finish, you’ll be able to use a powerful move by pressing Down + B anytime during your stock. You launch a giant meteor diagonally above you in a 90° circle with long reach, it will push the opponent as it drops and will finish with a strong crush. An emblem of the word will appear on it and slightly boosts one of it’s stats:
Pen: Speed
Pan: Launch
Gun: Range
Gas: Hitbox
Arm: Damage
Axe: Shield Breaker
(The words will be different in other languages but will still have an equivalent stat boost.)
*Final Smash: Execution: Fireworks of Smash
The Ultimate Students stand in their respective Chapter 1 Closing Argument poses while Monokuma says “Punishment Time” and he slams his hammer releasing a wave. If the opponent gets hit by it, it triggers the cutscene where 16bit Monokuma drags the opponent sped up. Then an original cutscene in the execution artstyle plays at a nighttime forest where Monokuma swings 500 baseballs at them then slams his bat on a circuit button that shoots the opponent up with fireworks of all the logos of Smash (Super Mario, Zelda, Sonic, etc.) and finishes it off with a firework of the individual fighter’s artwork from the roster. The executions always represents the character being punished so this one represents every fighter and Smash as a whole.

I seriously don't like the idea of using Murder Weapons and Executions as part of Makoto's moveset...
I have made a moveset concept myself, and for the normals I used stuff from minigames like Rebuttal Showdown, Logic Dive and Mind Mine
I also had the idea of having the other protags as alts, but instead of Kaede, I added Komaru, so that we can have access to the Hacking Gun in the moveset

But the thing is these kinda do represent the character well. These are *4* students after all and they can get taught how to fight by their classmates for example in the games Tenko taught Shuichi the Aikido arts and Kaito taught him push-ups just like how Ness, Lucas, Hero, Palutena, Robin, Mega Man, Isabelle, Dark Pit, Daisy, and Pac-Man all borrow moves from other characters that they don’t actually use in their games. I feel like these punches _would_ fit the fighter’s personality, would be better than generic uninspired punches or overinflated attacks, and help represent the unplayable students well. 1/3 of the roster has completely original punches and kicks for their neutrals anyway. As for murder weapons there’s only 3, Kaede literally uses the shot put ball so that can be in for sure. The protagonists also use ropes for things other than murder so that can also be in. The knife is so iconic to the games and is the main weapon, so it’s not a stretch having them use that when the other weapons are present. As for the execution Monokuma and the protagonists may be enemies but the execution is the ultimate move (super iconic, important, and powerful) and the protagonists do all their work to fight through arguments to finish it off with the punishment. Steve worked with his enemies for the Final Smash, so why can’t the students? It’d also just be really cool and way more sick than a Closing Argument. Because this moveset isn’t for one character in particular and they all don’t have enough potential it’s main purpose is to represent the concept of Danganronpa in general, not just making it perfectly represent the specific characters. The arguing, minigames, the murders, and the execution. Even then the moveset has almost all the things these characters do especially through the specials and portrays their abilities/personality well. A big thing of how I designed this is that I wanted to avoid ruining the potential of Phoenix Wright as I feel like he’s just as reasonable and will make his day eventually.

I would like to see Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia. Picking out a full moveset for him shouldn't be too hard due to how wide an array of abilities he has.
Fan moveset for Pump and Skid:
Weight: Both are lightweight individually.
Speed: Fast
Movement options: Walljump
The regular attacks:
Jab: Simple rapid punch forwards, dealing 2% damage for each hit
Dash: Pump gives Skid a boost and they both charge forwards, dealing a decent amount of knockback and 30% damage.
Forward tilt: Pump whips out a microphone and slaps it at the opponent, dealing 20% of damage and it has a 30% chance of creating feedback in a large area, slowing all opponents by 35%.
Up tilt: Skid chucks one of the arrows from FNF upwards, dealing 10% damage and piercing through opponents
Down tilt: Skid and Pump start spooky dancing, dealing 5 damage with each hit and is highly spammable.
Back tilt: Skid jumps onto Pump and uses him as a trampoline to jump up and ground pound. It has quite a bit of start lag but it deals 45% of damage and huge knockback, plus Skid jumping onto
Pump at the start can also deal 10% of damage and send the opponents back horizontally.
Up smash: Skid throws his phone upwards, which will deal 30% damage and bounce off walls until it hits the floor 3 times, then it will act as an item that can be thrown.
Side smash: A vehicle from the series appears on the stage and drives horizontally from left to right until it goes off stage. If held down for a maximum of 5 seconds, the police car with Ooga Booga on it appears, going forwards at high speeds and sending Ooga Booga flying halfway, dealing knockback, 40% damage and will spike any opponent that tried to crouch under the van. Ooga Booga itself will fly off the van halfway and deal 30% damage and will spike opponents directly underneath. If held down for a minimum of 2 seconds or a maximum of 4 seconds, Frank's white van will appear, dealing 20% damage, going slower but having more knockback than the police car. It will also only ground opponents if they crouch under the van.
Down smash: Skid takes out a hammer and smashes the opponent on the head, dealing 40% of damage and knockback, but if the opponent is knocked back by a wall, Pump will take out a sack and attempt to trap them in a sack, and if he succeeds, the opponent trapped in the sack will be immobilized for 10 seconds but just like Yoshi's egg, they can get out by button mashing.
Neutral aerial: Pump and Skid both spin their arms like a wheel, dealing 5% damage with each hit and a sweet spot in between the both of them.
Down aerial: Pump drops a bottle of whatever Frank used to knock that child out, which deals only 10% damage but the liquid that spills out deals 3% damage every second to opponents that stand in the puddle, which lasts 10 seconds.
Forward aerial: Skid throws his phone again, which bounces around before bouncing at an angle back to Skid again, each hit dealing 10% damage.
Grab: Skid grabs while Pump below pummels by hitting the opponent's stomach, dealing 1.5% damage per hit.
Down throw: Skid throws and slides the opponent underneath him and Pump and begin stomping as hard and as rapidly as they can, each stomp dealing 1.2% damage before launching the foe.
Back throw: Skid picks up the opponent and begins rapidly spinning before throwing them away.
Forward throw: Pump holds the opponent up before Skid starts spooky dancing, dealing 3% damage per hit before sending them flying.
Floor attacks: Skid and Pump suddenly fall to the floor dead, dealing 10% of damage and reducing their hitbox but it has a bit of end lag as Pump and Skid get up.
Edge attack: Pump and Skid cartwheel back onto the stage, dealing 2% of damage with each hit.
The Special moves:
Up Special: Pump and Skid create a sort of Save Point by whipping out an ice cream in the shape of their heads, and if the Up Special is used later on, they will eat the ice cream and slowly teleport back. However, they can still be damaged when they teleport, and a Save Point can only be created on the ground.
Neutral Special: Pump and Skid prank call Moloch and summon him if the Neutral Special is held down for at most 6 seconds, who has short range, 10% damage per hit, slow reload and speed, can only move in a straight lineand will disappear after 30 seconds, if he takes 70% damage or if he goes out of bounds. However, he will target any player in the stage that is closest to him, including Pump and Skid. If the Neutral Special is held down for 2-5 seconds, a possessed Dexter the Exterminator will appear instead, who has longer range than Moloch and faster reload, but he deals only 20% damage per hit, is as slow as Moloch and can only hover at a fixed distance. Like Moloch, Dexter can only appear for a set time (20 seconds) and will disappear if he takes 40% damage or goes out of bounds. If the Neutral Special is tapped or held for 1 second or less, a cloud of demonic energy will appear over Pump and Skid, dealing 40% of damage and lingering for 2 seconds.
Side Special: Pump transforms makes his face resemble Ooga Booga, dealing 60% damage and huge knockback. However, if the attack is spammed, the damage and knockback will reduce until it the move only deals 15% damage and no knockback. The damage and knockback can be restored if the Side Special is not used for the next minute.
Down Special: Pump and Skid phase through the floor, which will put them into freefall.
Final Smash: The Eyes of The Universe
A tentacle reaches out from below the stage and pulls Pump and Skid away to safety as it begins to crack and quake. Soon, the Eyes of The Universe appears in the background and slams the stage with its tentacles and fires beams from its eyes. Any opponent hit by the tentacles are instantly KO'd, and the beams deal 150% damage each. After the Final Smash is completed, the stage returns to normal.
Taunts:
* Pump and Skid both take out some candy and eat it.
* Skid waves at the screen.
* Pump takes out a microphone and begins to duet with Skid for a moment.
Stage intros:
* A section of the stage is shrouded in darkness and two creepy faces appear, only for the shadows to fade and reveal Pump and Skid.
* A morgue chamber appears on screen and Pump and Skid slide out of it.
* A Happy Fella Doll box falls onto the stage and Pump and Skid burst out slightly dizzy but they quickly shake it off.
Winning animations:
* Pump and Skid spooky dance with the rest of the main cast spooky dancing as well in the background.
* Pump and Skid pose heroically before taking out a candy bag and beginning to eat it.
* The camera pans around Pump and Skid playing Super Smash Bros on their gaming console.
Alternate costumes:
Regular: Their normal appearance in Spooky Month.
Alt 1: Skid and Pump switch color schemes.
Alt 2: Skid and Pump have a blue and grey coloration, referencing the 2 robbers who tried to rob Skid's house.
Alt 3: Skid is now red and yellow and Pump is blue and turqouise, referencing the demon Moloch and The Eyes of The Universe.
Alt 4: Skid is now purple and white while Pump is now brown and white as well, referencing Skid's mom, Lila, and Pump's possible grandpa.
Alt 5: Skid is now red and yellow while Pump is pink and lilac, referencing two of Sr Pelo's characters, Mokey and Mommi.
Alt 6: Skid has a pink and crimson coloration while Pump has a purple and black coloration, referencing Sr Pelo and his girlfriend, SecretNarcissist.
Alt 7: Skid is blue and white while Pump is red and brown, referencing Boyfriend and Girlfriend from Friday Night Funkin'.
Alt 8: Skid is now Johnknee while Pump is Ill.

I absolutely love Ashley! Wonderful concept too, love how inspired the aerials are, and the attention to detail with a lot of her moves.
I think my only complaint is grandmas wig, landing an attack should always be rewarded, and the enemy getting a bonus and killing you easily doesn’t seem like a good reward for sniping them. If the projectile has a chance of aiding the enemy it should go both ways. So, for instance I’d have it be a “the bigger they are the harder they fall” so, they become huge and hit harder as per usual, but in addition, their weight is greatly reduced and they become much easier to kill as a result! Making it so that both players gain an advantage from you sniping them. And them having a big hit box and being easier to kill definitely spices it up!

Neutral attack is him doing some notes maybe (If he is facing left) Up note, down note, left note (Each one producing a bit of a sound wave that does damage) and rapid jab is spamming left note. Smashes are just him doing that directional note and holding it. Smash is him rapidly beatboxing into the mic doing major damage to any caught infront of him
