It's great that you did what felt best for you both. It looked a lovely wedding in a beautiful, relaxing location. Hopefully, your family and friends were understanding.
janz z Thank you! It was a lovely, relaxing day. You know how it is, there were some ups and downs in terms of reactions but it is so hard to please everyone. I don't think it is possible to get it spot on without sacrificing your own happiness on the day x
Me and my fiancé just booked our boho elopement for next year in April :) This video helped a lot! We're doing it pretty much for the same reasons as you did, and by the sounds of it it was amazing! I cannot wait!
Erin Cressey Yay! Congrats! So exciting for you guys. You will LOVE it. Do you know the area anyway or is it totally new? I recommend Adam Gibbard photography... he does special elopement prices otherwise you end up having to pay for a whole day. Check him out... he's a local so can take you to amazing beaches etc. Any questions just shout lovely xx
From Lucy With Love We don't really know the area that well. We live in Suffolk and cornwall has always been a special place for us, we've always wanted to get married there. But we knew that our friends and family wouldn't want to drive down here for a wedding. When we heard about boho we thought it was absolutely perfect. Yep I have sent him a message last night, just waiting to hear back. He seems great. Thank you lovely, I'm sure I have a million questions but I can't think of what to ask right now haha. Xx
A wedding is only ever as expensive as you make it. My wedding dress is from Little Black Dress (yes they do a bridal range), my bridesmaid dresses were from Debenhams, Shoes are from New Look. Flowers were £52 that covered the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquet, button holes for 6 people. My veil was £16, you really don't have to spend extortionate amounts. No one knows any different anyway if you do it right :)
Loved listening to you talk about eloping! If I were to do it again I think that would be a nice way to do it :-). We almost did for our first wedding (don't I sound spoilt having 2 lol!) but ended up having 6 family members and then saved up for a bigger wedding. My dress was high street too! Xx
I just went to the court. The End! We had no family since they live far so that was it. Drank champagne that was free from the liquor store since we told them we just got married and we drank it at our new studio apartment. We are gonna celebrate our 12 years of marriage soon. I dont regret not having a big wedding. My mother in law wants us to have a redo and have a big wedding but I feel the time is passed we are in another point of life so I dont feel like doing it.
Great video. Congratulations on the wedding first of all and all the best for your marriage. I'm exactly the same and never see a big wedding in my future. My brother eloped and him and his wife couldn't have been happier. Some friends and relatives made a bit of a fuss at the time but they got over it. It was 100% right for them. Sounds like you two had exactly the wedding you wanted. You both looked so lovely and happy. That's what matters. Not how much you spend or anything superficial like that.
DK Thank you lovely. You're totally right, and that is why we chose the option we did... we really wanted to not get into debt, pay for everything all up front and have no stress. It was fab and we enjoyed every second. xx
