These tutorials are so handy. I learned Zbrush back at uni but forgot so much of it now but I think I’m learning more from your tutorials than i did from my classes haha
rly man? tons of tutorials about zwrap or wrap4d,manual retopology or just fricking sculpt it,but this dude as always goes the hardest way possible idk why...boolean ..rly man? to open mouth?
@@w1nston137 oh i love doing manual retopology, this was a way to show how to do this process inside of zbrush with a different approach. Just sculpting is great if you know from the start that you will need an open mouth, but it is not always the case. Zwrap is amazing for human or humanoid characters, but if you are dealing with a creature like a dragon or something that has a non traditional topology then i do believe this method is valuable to know. at the end of the day whatever works for you is fine dude
Yes of course, although my first advice would be not to pick an unclear concept art, starting with that disadvantage can make the whole process more complicated. Ideally you want your concept to be as clear and clean as possible.
What would be the best way to do the mouth cavity of an animal, like a cat or a dog? Would you create the lower jaw by itself or do a mouth cavity in a similar way?
Great question! Face retopology follows a very simple process, i have a video about it right here> th-cam.com/video/xWFAw2KDjDo/w-d-xo.html as for the mouth you would need to do pretty much the same thing as with the eyes. Create a loop around and then extrude that edge loop in until you get to back of the throat.
Your sculpting level has visibly improved ! I mean overall anatomy and forms.
Haha yeah that's how art works. The more you do it the more you improve ;)

great question, i would probably do it the same way, since their mouths tend to be bigger i might even just sculpt them open from the very beginning
